A few months ago I did have a personal avtar but recently it went missing and it is not in my avtar list. If I posted a picture here, would you be able to set it as my personal avtar?

if the pic has the right size you can do it yourself: go to user cp
edit options, at the bottom you'll see: change avatar. You can select your local file there.
