Actually, it is a little confusing, because usually you read a score like:

Stamenic - van Baarle 4-6 6-7 so that the numbers of the score match with the person who got that score. I mean you don't usually read the score like: Stamenic - van Baarle 6-4 7-6 when van Baarle won! OK, the names are in bold, but I can see how people would have been confused, because in this forum, alot of people just put the names of the players the cheer for in bold!

Leslie was by far the better player in the first set...she won the first 8 points of the match. Korpivica had 3 breakpoints in the 3th game (00-40) but made some silly mistakes at that time, and Leslie made it 3-0*. Koprivica didn't play that bad, she made some great points, but then after a good point, always a bad one (really bad I say) Leslie broke her again, saved two BP's in the next game, and broke on love to take the first set: 6-0. The second set was more attractive (first set wasn't that bad) Leslie held for 1-0, and then had a couple of BP's, but she didn't convert any. Koprivica tied 1-1 and started to fire winners with her forehand. But Leslie was actually never in trouble...she held for 2-1, Koprivica made it 2-2 and then it was all Butkiewicz..3-2 4-2 5-2 and 00-40. Three matchballs on Koppies serve, but she missed all 3, she also missed her 4th and her 5th MB. After a long game, it became 6-0 *5-3. After that struggle, Leslie served it out easy. The matchpoint was a backhand inside-out winner.
Leslie has a great backhand and a fantastic dropshot. I think she won like 15 points with that shot :) Koprivica was up an down today, mostly down.

Both girls started off pretty well, with some great rally's. Bassu made a first gap at 3-1 and from then on Uhlirova only shouted to herself...nothing was working, although she made some nice points. But Bassu was just too good.

Feys def. De Laet 6-0 6-3
After seeing the warm up before the match, I picked Feys to win this match like 6-0 6-1...
Debbrich started really well, but she didn't have to work hard for the points in the first set. Feys was to powerfull from the baseline, Stephanie couldn't handle the power. Feys fired winners all over the court, and De Laet only served double faults (I guess 8 in the first set!!) Feys took the first set in no time: 6-0. But in the second set, we saw a totally different De Laet on court...she returned and played more agressive. De laet lost her serve again (6-0 2-0*) But she broke back after a great netpoint from. Both girls held till 6-0 4-3*. De Laet felt the pressure and lost serve (DF). Feys hit three winners in the last game and served it out with a clear ace (#2): 6-0 6-3.

Stephens def. Bailly 3-6 6-3 6-2
This was a nice match. From the start it was clear Bailly was showing her best tennis. She hit lots of winners with her forehand and she dictated the points. Stephens was really mad, and smacked her racket a couple of time when she lost her serve @ 3-3. Bailly fired winners, came to the net and won most of the points in the last 2 games of the set which she won 6-3. The young Belgian had a break in the second set (6-3 *2-0) but from then on Stephens avoid the forehand and played to the backhand of Bailly, her weakness... Lots of errors with her backhand and Stephens was suddenly in control: 3-6 6-3... The third set wasn't good, Bailly looked mentally a little down. But at 5-0, the crowd (500 people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) started to chear so hard for Bailly, that she fired winner after winner with the forehand. Bailly made it 5-1, broke for 5-2 and then served. But she was so unlucky...2 letcords for Stephens made it really hard for Bailly to win that game. Stephens won 3-6 6-3 6-2 after a cross-court passing shot.
Bailly has a great forehand, but a weak backhand. Her serve is quiet ok, but needs some improvement.

*Elke was there with her mother, she played her doubles match with Kirsten @ 6pm.
*Funny how things are going in this $10.000 tournament. Two courts close to eachother, so lots of lets cuz balls were flying all over the place. No ballkids, only 1 chairumpire and 1 linesman...
