There are only 6 players for qualifying... no more players?
If it's true, it should be a golden opportunity for a player who has no WTA point to enter a 10K event. :D

Anyway,.. I wish I could visit the beautiful country again, Sri Lanka.

Sad that all of the Sri Lankan players are on the alternates list -- definitely a good chance for them to step up and get some points (and money!)

Go Rushmi, Jaya, Isha, Shruti, Archana, Geeta -- oh hell, go all Indians! ;) Heh. Heck, I'm for all the Asians, so go Thai's, Taiwanese, Indonesians, and Sri Lankans too! :)

Eric & Neil, the players in the Alternate list will surely be pushed into the Qualies when the time comes. I'm sure there'll be others who'll turn up to the sign-ins, who had not originally entered. :)

I surely hope that some Sri Lankan players get wildcards...that would seem only fair.

Thanks Danker -- it really wouldn't make any sense for up and coming Sri Lankan tennis players to be locked out of their own home tourney...

Thanks for the info, danker :wavey:

Do you know the dead line for sign-up? I guess it's golden opportunity for up&coming players who don't have any WTA rangking points.

thanks for the list :)

smart choice for I-Hsuan to play here :) Hopefully she can keep up her junior success in Sri Lanka and do well here too ;) .

Yung-Jan Chan really should be here too, she said she will start to play pro tennis when she is 14 yrs old. This tournament starts at the first week since she becomes 14 yrs old, and the field is so weak that she has a very good chance to do well here...

Taa 4 posting the list!

I doubt Maya and Jojo would play here...In the same week, Maya has committed to play the 2nd leg of Hemaviton Challenge in Surabaya, East Java - a national junior circuit initiated by Yayuk Basuki and I assume Jojo would be in Surabaya as well...So, only Aleta would be in then...Go, Aleta!!! Nice to see u last week in Senayan!!! ;)

Go for it, Jakarta born Welford!!! :D Bring the spirit of Aussie Indo into the court! :wavey:

Based on the info I got from Denise Harijanto - a promising 15 yo junior player - Maya is not in the main draw of "Hemaviton Challenge" this week in Surabaya...A junior circuit in Indonesia initiated by Basuki...So, most likely she is gonna be here with Aleta Sungkono...Maya is under the program to have WTA ranking this year...So far, she has played 4 of 10Ks - 2 in Indonesia in which she did quite well while the recent 2 in Thailand, she did poorly...For sure, Joana Febri is not gonna be here since she is seeded 5 in "Hemaviton Challenge" this week! :D

Well, anyone know when the Q draw is out?

Thanks Danker :worship: as usual:

Robbee will be top seeded here.
I don't too much expect that she will be doing well on clay.
Anyway good luck Robbee and Isha. :hearts:

I just got the info that Maya is not sure whether she is gonna play Colombo or not...She is back in Jakarta now, she said that she is very tired physically!  :( I bet, it is too late to make up your mind, Maya...if resting is the best then rest well! :D

Maya won't go far in the Pros with that kind of attitude. This tourney is an excellent chance for her to do well, and yet she is still undecided...

Anyway, she will receive a fine from the ITF for withdrawing so late.

What I fail to understand is how she could be so physically (not mentally) tired when she played so few matches the past 2 weeks?
