Eric_tennis Jul 23rd, 2003, 05:22 AM There has been some changes in the main draw due to some withdrawals (Rika, Piedade)
So, Kyung-Mi Chang replaced Rika's spot and Da-jung Hong replaced Piedade's. :(
And two lucky loser had some luck. Ji-sun Ha took Da-jung's spot and Young-Ja Choi took Chang's.
Many matches were postponed due to the rain,.. cause it's rainy season here.
It was bad luck having Jin-young Choi vs Mi-Ok Kim cause they both could have reached semi in this weak field, I think.
Good luck to Eun-jung Lee, So-jung Kim, Yoo-mi Jung, Chin-Wei Chan and Jin_young Choi.

Hello, jirobkk
Cho defeat Suchanan with the score. I'm sorry to see that she didn't have good luck in Korea.
I was worried about the match cause Cho was top junior player when she was high school girl almost winning every title and she beat Young-ja Choi in the qualie in this tournament.
Anyway, Cho lost to Jin-young Choi today.
The doubles result are correct but it was 6-0 in the 3rd.
Eric_tennis Jul 24th, 2003, 09:52 AM Some 2nd round results
Kyung-mi Chang def Yoo-mi Jung 6-3,6-4
Eun-jeong Lee def Chia-Jung 6-2,6-2 :D
Jin-young Choi def Eun-Hye Cho  :D
I think Eun-Jeong Lee is most underestimated player among Korean players. If she overcome Chang, she surely will reach final. I hope Eun-Jeong Lee Vs Jin-Young Choi final. :)
So-jung is fastly becoming just a so-so player to lose Chia-jung 6-1,6-0.  She was regarded as most promising junior since Mi-ra and Yoon-jeong Cho in Korea,... so could get 3 WC this year which is very rare but lost all in 1st rd with embarrasing score. The contract dispute around her must have been a big factor for that.
Good luck to Eun-Jeong, Jin-Young and Chin-wei!

Eric, I agree about Eun-Jeong. She seems to produce quality results whenever she plays. However, I prefer to see "full-time" tour players advance to the final, as they would benefit from the points more. :)

Hello, Jirobkk
I'm sorry not to give you good news. Unfortunately Napaporn match is not assigned to center court.
Only center court matches will be broadcasted. Currently Lee vs Chang is starting 3rd set. After the match, there will be JY Choi vs JH Kim match,.. then Haruka vs YJ Choi in the center court.
They require membership,.. it's free,. you can register using the link below. From tommorrow it's weekend,.. so KBS sports channel will broadcast the weekend matches,.. and I'm not sure they have internet broadcasting service. I'll check it later.
Link : https://sso.kbs.co.kr/Join/Join.asp?site=www.kbs.co.kr
Click the button [Foreigner living Abroad], it's written in English.
Once you finished registration, then come back to main page, and click the button [On Air] light blue button which is upper-left side,.. then there are 8 channels,.. then choose [1TV]. That's all.
:D
jirobkk Jul 25th, 2003, 08:02 AM Thanks Eric,
I just finished registering. Then come back to main page, and click the button [On Air] .. but the page didn't change.
Have you got the result of Napaporn vs Hong match. ?
Eric_tennis Jul 25th, 2003, 10:03 AM Thanks Eric,
I just finished registering. Then come back to main page, and click the button [On Air] .. but the page didn't change.
Have you got the result of Napaporn vs Hong match. ?
Sorry, I don't know any results today,... cause I asked my sister to tape the match,.. so I didn't follow the internet streaming service. I'm going home now,.. so if I learn something I'll post here.
As for the button [On Air], it doesn't change the page,.. it just makes small 2 row table just below the button,... and it says [1TV],[2TV],..so forth. So you can choose one of them,.. this time [1TV].
But I think for now, their tennis broadcast time is over.
But you can still watch the matches today and yesterday using their VOD service which is also free for registered member like you. I just checked it. Right now, you can watch the yestday match [ EJ Lee vs Chia-jung] and [ YJ Choi vs Shiho] now. I think they are still processing for todays match for VOD service. It should be available in several hours, I think.
To use the VOD service,... don't clike the [On Air], just click the button bellow it,.. it has icon looks like TV set. (it's above speaker icon). If you click the icon, it changes web page,.. then you can choose [1TV] button. (The location is almost same with the previous page)
Oh, you can just use this link for VOD service.
Link : http://www.kbs.co.kr/rekbs/1tv_1week.php
Then you should choose the program among the TV guide table. Find the date 7/24, then left side there are time slots... so choose [2:10pm -4:00pm] . Then you can watch yestday's match. I tested it,.. and it works well.
And in a few hours, you can watch today's match with [7/25] & [1:10pm~4:00pm].
Bad news is, tomorrow match will be broadcasted KBS sports channel, not KBS 1TV,.. so there wouldn't be a VOD or live streaming service. ( I couldn't find it on their site. Sorry. )
Hope it helps.
:wavey:

Way to go , Robbie, Win this
Eric_tennis Jul 26th, 2003, 02:57 AM For now, Kyung-mi Chang is leading Tongsalee 6-3,2-1. I'm watching the match on TV cause I installed Digital Satellite 3 weeks ago. Both players are not playing their best tennis. Both looks tiring and making a lot of UEs,..low 1st serve percentage. Chang makes many DFs in important points.
Both have good forehand,.. powerful one,.. and so-so backhands. Tongalee is playing aggressively,.. but just got frustrated by UEs.
Go, girls~
:D
jirobkk Jul 26th, 2003, 03:05 AM Good morning Eric, :)
I woke up early this morning for supporting Paradorn. He just won QF match.

Eric_tennis Jul 26th, 2003, 03:07 AM Tongsalee picked her game a bit. :D
Now the score is Chang leading 6-3,2-4.
Eric_tennis Jul 26th, 2003, 03:09 AM Good morning, jirobkk :wavey:
Hope you have good news in a row.
As for Korean name, you had better remember first name than last name. ;)
jirobkk Jul 26th, 2003, 03:10 AM C'mon Robbie, cut-off your UEs and try to win the second set.
Thanks Eric.
jirobkk Jul 26th, 2003, 03:13 AM That means I should better remember Kyung-mi because Chang is her family name.

Just right. :)
Eric_tennis Jul 26th, 2003, 03:17 AM Now, it's 4 all in 2nd.
The commentator are saying both don't play their best. I think Chang is tiring from 3 hour match against EJ Lee yesterday,.. and Tongsalee would be tired from yesterdays singles & doubles.
jirobkk Jul 26th, 2003, 03:19 AM Could you could please post double result if any ?
Eric_tennis Jul 26th, 2003, 03:23 AM Now, it's 5 all. Chang was leading 5-4,.. but 2 DFs.
Sorry, I don't know about the doubles,... the commentators are not saying it.... After this match,.. I'll research some sites.

Sorry, I don't know about the doubles,... the commentators are not saying it.... After this match,.. I'll research some sites.
I think Napaporn try to attack Chang's second serve.
C'mon Robbie. wins second set.
Eric_tennis Jul 26th, 2003, 03:43 AM The match is finished.
Tongsalee was leading 6-5.
Then Chang started aggresive game including overhead. 6 all
Tie break
Chang led 4-0, then 5-1,... but Tongsalee played bravely 6-5. But Tongsalee's bh UE made the game, set, match call.
As soon as the UE shot making, Tongsalee looked at her coach.
Better luck next time, Tongsalee :D
And good luck in the final, Kyung-mi :D

Eric_tennis Jul 26th, 2003, 03:46 AM Sorry about not giving you point by point report. My pc is in my bedroom and TV with Satellite is in living room,,.. so it took some time. ;)

Eric_tennis Jul 26th, 2003, 03:51 AM Thanks for the score Eric. Great fight once again from Kyung-Mi, after her exhausting match yesterday :) .
Hi, Steveg :wavey:
Not that great fight from Chang,.. she is tiring from yesterday,..and suffer from shoulder injury. That caused many DFs and UEs.
Actually, I wanted Eung-jeong Lee to win yesterday,.. cause for her,.. it's ultimate lifetime opportunity,.. and she wanted it so badly.
And her team, Changwon City office is kind of hosting team,.. so she had many reasons.
Now, I want Chang win this title.
They stopped broadcasting after this match. :(
I don't know what happend to JY Choi, yesterday. I thing she would have won over JH Kim if not the shoulder problem.
A spectator said JY Choi was leading 5-3 in the 1st set over JH Kim,.. then there was rain delay.
JY Choi wrote on YJ Cho's fan site that she cannot participate Taegoo Univasiad game next week,..so it became holiday for her. What happened to her?
