Miho is a former Top 60 player, so that is why I want to see her achieve her former glory once more.

You must have seen a passive Miho at the Aus Open last year. Not the same agressive Miho that got to the 3rd rd of Roland Garros a few years ago. :sad:

Martina Navratila doubles present performances show that she has the potential to reach good results in singles.

I would not go upto compare Martina with Hakura ;) . And past performances can not be used as an indication of present ones, in particular when there has been such a long time between the points of comparison.

Haruka is 26 years old and her highest ranking was in 1998. She has been constantly going down since then (2000 : 251, 2001 : 254, 2002 : 406).

Martina Navratila doubles present performances show that she has the potential to reach good results in singles.

I would not go upto compare Martina with Hakura ;) . And past performances can not be used as an indication of present ones, in particular when there has been such a long time between the points of comparison.

Haruka is 26 years old and her highest ranking was in 1998. She has been constantly going down since then (2000 : 251, 2001 : 254, 2002 : 406).

Hikaru played not less than 17 tournaments in 2001 and finished the year at #254.

You did draw a comparison with Martina Navratilova (who has shown some ability to do well in doubles). While the overall results of the two players can't be compared.

Hikaru did well reaching the main draw by beating players ranked respectively #391, #458 and #305. As I said, I hope that she will come back to her former self or at least break the top #400 again :) .

On another hand, we can say that Tian-Tian has shown the ability in the past few weeks to beat players close to the top #100 spot ;) (Wynne Prakusya at Fed Cup and Vanessa twice).

I have not seen this match but I can confirm that Tian-Tian lost the second set to Wynne Prakusya in Tokyo (Fed Cup) because she tried to overdo it and slam all the balls :( , including difficult ones. But she's learning :D .

I certainly don't doubt that Tian-Tian may have done just that, I just think it's an open book case.

Either Tian-Tian could have have overdone it or Haruka could have played her old game. I guess the only people who would know is those who saw the match. :)
