paul_masterton Apr 27th, 2003, 07:41 PM If anyone is going, play starts at 10am tomorrow, but the woman start 2nd match on, not before 11am.
TheBoiledEgg Apr 27th, 2003, 07:42 PM poor Georgie :(
she would get the 1 spanish girl :(
good luck
Emily ;)
Georgie :)
Anna ;)
Debbrich :)
paul_masterton Apr 27th, 2003, 07:54 PM Lol Eggy that's what I was thinking. But Velasco hasn't played since Feb and she hasn't done much this year, and for all we know Georgie could be a clay-court expert herself!! O'Brien vs Fritche should be an excellent match, and White vs Homewood should be a good laugh, as both are rather tempremental and vocal ;) Natalie Neri has won ebfore stepping on court, Wong makes Nancy look world class.
I'd expect Amanda to come through her section pretty easily, though Wong might push her. Reilly, Llewellyn, Homewood, O'Brien/Fritche and Emily could get through if they play really well and have a bit of luck in their final round matches.
bluepastures Apr 27th, 2003, 07:58 PM My qualifying predictions are:
Janes,
Van Boekel,
Schlotterer,
Feys,
Jacobsgaard,
Neri,
Llewellyn,
Tamaela.
Interesting to see several of Holland's best youngsters here, especially Tamaela and Van Boekel.
I won't be going here, although I normally do, as I'm flying out to Berlin on Friday morning.
Paul is right, Yee Wong is rubbish. Let's have a look at her recent record :worship: :
Tipton ($10,000 - Great Britain) Feb 2 2003
Qual 1 A White - Y Wong 6-1 6-0
Manila ($10,000 - Philippines) Nov 17 2002
Qual 1 E Sung(10) - Y Wong 6-0 6-1
Sunderland ($10,000 - Great Britain) Sep 29 2002
Qual 1 A Kojian(3) - Y Wong 6-0 6-0
Bath ($10,000 - Great Britain) Aug 11 2002
Qual 1 K McRae(13) - Y Wong 6-1 6-1

Qual 1 H McKee - Y Wong 6-2 6-1
Felixstowe ($25,000 - Great Britain) July 14 2002
Qual 1 C Homewood - Y Wong 6-3 6-0
Monica_Rules Apr 27th, 2003, 08:00 PM Typical Helen vs Katie:rolleyes:
I hope Emily qualifies and gets some points into that ranking of hers!
paul_masterton Apr 27th, 2003, 08:05 PM on a personal note this is interesting for me as the Edinburgh qualifying draw is likely to be very similar to this one, so I'm looking forward to seeing several player in action for the first time ever, or for teh first time in aaaaaaaaaaaages.
Although we do have Selyutina and Maes coming ;)
anabel Apr 27th, 2003, 08:31 PM Gabriela :)
Wimanna Apr 27th, 2003, 10:20 PM Gogo Debbrich :):)
Pdm1987 Apr 27th, 2003, 10:46 PM Good Luck Brits :bounce:
VSFan1 aka Joshua L. Apr 27th, 2003, 11:55 PM I'm sure Wong would beat Nancy ;)
Now with Dewonder -- she would win.
coolio3 Apr 28th, 2003, 01:07 AM dont know any of 'em......
oh well.....:)
Fieke Apr 28th, 2003, 01:22 AM Gogo Debbrich :):)
Gogo Debbrich ² :)
Sharapova's_Boy Apr 28th, 2003, 01:40 AM Good luck Elise Tamaela! :)
DutchieGirl Apr 28th, 2003, 01:54 AM Goooooooooooo Elise Tamaela, Debbrich Feys and PaulineWong! :D
DutchieGirl Apr 28th, 2003, 01:57 AM My qualifying predictions are:
Interesting to see several of Holland's best youngsters here, especially Tamaela and Van Boekel.
 van Boekel ones of Holland's best youngsters? mwahahahahahaha She finished in juniors last year and has done nothing! Elise finished in juniors last year too, but at least she is doing something! I don't think Domi's gonna get very high in the rankings - her results at 10k's have been pretty poor so far. Unless a miracle happens! ;)
selesfan1 Apr 28th, 2003, 03:12 AM No Alice Mackenzie?
Xian Apr 28th, 2003, 09:44 AM good luck Nadine, Nina, Debbrich and Elise :bounce:
Monica_Rules Apr 28th, 2003, 12:08 PM Alice is playing Pauline Wong in the first section!
AUSBOY Apr 28th, 2003, 03:00 PM Pauline Wong is a reasonable player, she impressed me when I saw her. I think Alice will have to play pretty good to win this one
danker Apr 28th, 2003, 03:03 PM Is Pauline Wong of Asian descent?
Elleke Apr 28th, 2003, 03:48 PM good luck Debbrich!
King Aaron Apr 28th, 2003, 04:00 PM Good luck Yee Wong!
Palicot Apr 28th, 2003, 05:54 PM Lyndsay Reilly has pulled out, and this has affected the following.
(1) Amanda Janes GBR v Harriet Piercy GBR
Alt v (15) Pauline Wong NED
Alice Mackenzie GBR v Kirsty Woolley GBR
Jeanine Kuratli SUI v (16) Dominique Van Boekel NED
Pdm1987 Apr 28th, 2003, 06:00 PM Thanks Palicot. Hopefully because Alice has a better draw she can qualify :)
paul_masterton Apr 28th, 2003, 06:31 PM there was no play today due to rain, so both rounds will be played tomorrow :)
Palicot Apr 28th, 2003, 06:43 PM Actually Lyndsay may not of pulled out, she was number 1 on the qualifying list so she might now be in the main draw.
Fieke Apr 28th, 2003, 06:44 PM there was no play today due to rain, so both rounds will be played tomorrow :)
Rain? I didn't see any rain today ;)
The forecast for tomorrow looks alright (forecast (http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=1184&links))
paul_masterton Apr 28th, 2003, 07:17 PM well OOP has all 24 matches for 2morrow, adn according to every forecast i've seen and the player i spoke too, it was pouring this morning and even though the showers eventually relented, the courts couldn't dry out ;)
bluepastures Apr 28th, 2003, 08:19 PM They have got several indoor courts (the Maureen Connolly cup was held on them last year) at the West Hants Club venue, so if it is a very bad week in terms of weather, they do have an alternative.
Here in Essex, it stopped raining at about 11am, so it must have been much worse in Bournemouth, to scrap the WHOLE day's play.
AUSBOY Apr 29th, 2003, 04:41 AM Yes Danker, Pauline Wong is of Asian decent, as in one or both of her parents were born in Asia. She is a solid player, works the angles well on clay, not that powerful, just smart and sets up her points well

Surprised to see Nat having such a mare against Egger, but hopefully she can do a bit better next week :)
bluepastures Apr 29th, 2003, 09:15 PM No, I think Emily at her best would still struggle against Tamaela. And since she's just coming back from injury, I doubt she'll get more than 3 games tomorrow.
I see Yee Wong lived up to expectations ;)
The closest final round match may well be MacKenzie against Van Boekel, though if Stoop really plays well, I guess she might take a set off Llewellyn.
DutchieGirl Apr 30th, 2003, 02:11 AM Well done Dutchies! ;)
