paul_masterton Feb 3rd, 2003, 07:14 PM Main Draw:
(1)Sfar vs LL-Senoglu
q-Majstorovic vs Nagy
q-Zachariadou vs Barna
Sackowicz vs (6)Grandin
(4)Fokina vs wc-Khalifa
LL-Matic vs wc-Jovanovic
q-Piedade vs wc-Farid
Fattakhetdinova vs (5)Fedak
(8)Ahl vs Selyutina  i knew this would happen! :fiery:
Crook vs q-Viratprasert
Werner vs Popadic
q-Penkova vs (3)Parra
(7)Lee vs q-Miseviciute
Mens vs Kravets
q-Tongsalee vs q-Zaporozhanova
Tezuka vs (2)Santangelo
This was the original draw which i hate to hell. Bloody typical Lucie vs Irina. Howvere, due to Mara's withdrawl, the draw has been revised, Aceman has it, but can't open it due to a file error. So when revised is up i'll post it. Another withdrawl apparently is Jolanda Mens. Meaning there will be 2 further lucky loser spots: Beller and Kojian. This could mean that Nagy is made #9 and Selyutina is made #10. I'm praying this is what happens. If not Tezuka and Kravets will get lucky losers.
TheBoiledEgg Feb 3rd, 2003, 07:17 PM at least Annabel got 0.5 pts and not .25 for getting a bye ;)
anabel Feb 3rd, 2003, 07:17 PM Best of luck Arancha :D:D
paul_masterton Feb 3rd, 2003, 07:20 PM Doubles Draw:
(1)Fattakhetdinova/Fokina vs Mohsen/Weigert

(3)Crook/Sfar vs Senoglu/Zachariadou
Miseviciute/Piedade vs Jovanovic/Majstorovic
Kravets/Parra vs Penkova/Tongsalee
Popadic/Sakowicz vs (4)Fedak/Zaporozhanova
Ahl/Tezuka vs Barna/Werner
wc-Nagy/Viratprasert vs (2)Grandin/Mens
What the hell is Lucie doing playing with Remi, lol. That's random. Good luck Helen and Selima :)
TheBoiledEgg Feb 3rd, 2003, 07:20 PM mara withdrew from here says spiceboy

Anna Z:)
Zakowicz ;)
paul_masterton Feb 3rd, 2003, 07:26 PM If u read my post Eggy you'd see i acknowledged that :p
Still can't believe Lucie got Irina - so bloody typical :fiery:
bluepastures Feb 3rd, 2003, 08:14 PM Well, we all know that in challengers, a lot of players play with a different partner each week, just depends on who's available. Hence Ahl's ended up with Tezuka
Clearly, Paul, you have the same problem as me with Aceman's site. Can someone post the revised draw please?
TheBoiledEgg Feb 3rd, 2003, 08:26 PM Doha draw will be revised now :)
Santangelo like i said withdrew
Also Jolanda Mens has withdrawn
bluepastures Feb 3rd, 2003, 08:32 PM Mens' withdrawal means they'll have to revise the doubles draw too.
paul_masterton Feb 3rd, 2003, 08:37 PM Eggy do you not listen to me? I already posted than Mara and Jolanda had pulled out:
"Howvere, due to Mara's withdrawl, the draw has been revised, Aceman has it, but can't open it due to a file error. So when revised is up i'll post it. Another withdrawl apparently is Jolanda Mens."
You need to strat reading other people's posts, lol :p
Oh and Bp, it's not that i cant open it, it's that aceman can't open teh file he was sent by the ITF.
VSFan1 aka Joshua L. Feb 3rd, 2003, 08:38 PM Okay Selima, this is the weakest $25K draw of the year -- IF YOU DO NOT WIN IT, you officially suck.
paul_masterton Feb 3rd, 2003, 08:41 PM News of Santangelo and Mens:
Mens pulled out due to an injury which occured last night on site.
Santangelo withdrew from the event just 2 hours before play began.
Both players withdrew after OOP was released and before play commenced. (main draw began today and finished tomorrow)
I guess this means the draw won't be revised in terms of players being moved, just replaced by LL. :fiery:

TS Feb 4th, 2003, 03:57 PM Actually Sarah you're not the only one!
Im obviously not as big a fan as you, but I like her (guess I forgave her for beating Evie in the final of Port Pirie :p)
Watched her play qualies at AO, and she is a talented lefty. But above all that she is a very nice person :)
Best of luck to (2 players with no shot at winning the title but oh well...)
Christina Zachariadou
Ipek Senoglu
and Natalie Grandin!
TheBoiledEgg Feb 4th, 2003, 04:35 PM Joanna  :(
another letdown :(
Jakub Feb 4th, 2003, 06:24 PM Popadic/Sakowicz def. (4)Fedak/Zaporozhanova 7:6, 6:4 :D
I have talked with Joanna , she is relly annoyed at herself for her singles performance . She told me that she played very well with her sparing partner and during worm up. Joanna didn`t know what had happened when she started playing against Grandin . She couldn`t send bell on the other site  :(
She will stay for Qatar Total FinaElf Open , now she is 32 on waiting list .
anabel Feb 4th, 2003, 07:00 PM Another two results

Hi, no I'm actually not Dutch. I'm Australian, but I really like Holland, and I also can speak some Dutch! :D There are quite a few Indonesian people (or people with and Indonesian background) living in Holland - that must come from the time when Holland ruled in Indonesia. Actually, my ex-boyfriend is Dutch and his mum was from Indonesia! :D He was the one that got me so interested in Holland. Plus now I have quite a few friends over there from travelling there a few times! :D hehe dag is a very polite way of saying goodbye, I think most people in Holland say "doei, or hoedoe" instead (well with friends anyway). :D :wavey:
Shine On Silver Moon Feb 7th, 2003, 02:40 AM Gid day, mate! Do u eat vegemite a lot? I had it several times back when I was in Japan...One Aussie student gave it to me... I forget the meaning of 'fairdinkum'...when do u use it? I have met some Aussies from Ballarat, Bendigo and mostly Melbourne area when I was visiting Japan years back...Even one from Wagga Wagga in NSW...The first thing I learned about foreign country when I was small kid...guess? Yeah, it was Australia! I received a book on Australia from my mom's Aussie friend...I remember...it was about Aussie animals...It was the 1st time I knew about Kangaroo, Platypus, Koala, Kookabura. Wombat and all those creatures...I was 4 years old! Then, I got jigsaw puzzles, too...again, it was colorful map of Australia plus Tasmania island! I just loved it! hehe G'day! Yeah, I usually have vegemite on toast for breakfast (well lunch usually by the time I eat). "fairdinkum" means like "really?" or "are you telling the truth"? My boss says fairdinkum alot - which is funny coz his background is Italian and well, it just sounds funny when he says it! ;) You met alot of people from Australia then! :D I must say I don't know many Indonesian people. My brother did learn Indonesian in school for 5 years though! (I missed out on it by 1 year). Yeah, Australia does have many strange animals! :D I always know I can take my international friends to the zoo here! ;) :wavey:

At least she plays Doha qualy :)
jirobkk Feb 8th, 2003, 11:06 AM Thanks Danker,
It's hard to say. One thing I know is Suchanan is younger than Napaporn. Napaporn is already 25 years old. And She is more consistent than Napaporn. Last year Napaporn's sponsor has changed her coach. Now Napaporn, Chattida are woking with the same coach, a former men's great player.
Now Suchanan's sponsor is Boonrod Brewery. (Thassha, Montinee and Danai also). Suchanan's mum told me in Pattaya last year that Suchanan was not happy with her manager who making the schedule for the players. It seemed like her manager has changed her schedule by himself ( usually they should tell the players before they change). She was angry and directly talked to The Director of Boonrod Brewery. Finally The Director has splitted her from the group (Thassha, Montinee, Danai) and now she is working with her new coach (American people, I don't know his name.) And it seemed like everything is settle down and she is happy now.
Hope she can get her ranking into Top 200 soon.
danker Feb 8th, 2003, 11:35 AM Jiro, are you sure Napaporn is already 25?
I thought she turned 23 last October?
Is Suchanan's new coach's name Paul Dale?
I hope she has a new sponsor now as well... :)

paul_masterton Feb 9th, 2003, 11:58 AM Sixteen-year-old qualifier Aurelija Miseviciute completed her fairytale run through the $25,000 TotalFinaElf ITF Satelite tournament by winning a thrilling three-set final here yesterday.
The Lithuanian was stretched to the limit by Russian Fourth seed Galina Fokina, before prevailing 6-4 4-6 6-4 to record her first major singles title on the ITF circuit.
Miseviciute found herself in trouble right from the start, giving away an early break to go down 4-1 in the opening set. Fokina seemed to be running away with the first set, until the Lithuanian managed a crucial break in the seventh game to draw level at four all. The momentum now swung in Miseviciute’s favour, and she finally wrapped up the set 6-4 in just over 50 minutes.
The second set was another closely fought affair, with Miseviciute racing to an early 2-0 lead, only for the Muscovite to run away with the next five games to go into a commanding 5-2 lead. Although the Lithuanian managed to win the next two games, Fokina held serve to win 6-4 and force a deciding third set.
The final set proved to be a nail-biting climax to an exciting match, as both players attempted to snatch the crucial early break. Both players managed to hold until Miseviciute broke Fokina’s serve with the scores poised evenly at 4 games each. Serving for the match at 5-4, the young Lithuanian kept the crowd on the edge of their seats as she wasted five consecutive match points. After saving two break points which could easily have turned the match back in Fokina’s favour, Miseviciute finally converted her sixth match point to claim the first ITF Satellite tournament to be held in Doha.
The numerous spectators who showed up to watch the match on court one were presented with a great tennis match with a worthy winner in Miseviciute, but Fokina won’t have to wait too long to get revenge for the defeat.
In tomorrow’s opening qualifying match for the Qatar TotalFinaElf Open WTA event, the two will square off again at 10am on Court 2. Judging by last night’s 2 hour 22 minute battle, it should be another spectacular game.
Well done Aurelija :)
lin Feb 9th, 2003, 12:37 PM Galina  :( :( but good fight :)
congrats Aurelija :)
Monica_Rules Feb 9th, 2003, 01:36 PM They have to play again in Doha WTA event:eek: LMAO!

sartrista7 Feb 10th, 2003, 04:30 PM Wow Aurelija :bounce: would rather you'd lost here and beaten her in the WTA event though.
Still, congrats on that title!
