Hey guys. I have been excited about attending the Minnesota Challenger this year. I see that the tournament was held in Minneapolis last year, but has moved to St. Paul. Does anyone have a link or something about it's details? I believe it runs from Feb. 24th-March 3rd. Thanks for the help!

Visit this link often. It should have the information for the St. Paul tournament in a few days. This is what I used to go to the Greenville Challenger last year :)
Have fun and give us reports! :D

Cortec Tournament Relocates To Fort Snelling
A new site will host the Cortec $50,000 USTA Women's Tournament this year but fans will again be entertained by world-class players from different countries. The third annual tournament will be presented by the Northern Section and held Sunday, February 23 - Sunday, March 2 at the Fort Snelling Tennis and Learning Center in Minneapolis.
Players compete to improve their Women's Professional Tournament (WTA) ranking and qualify for major WTA events, plus the Grand Slam events of tennis--the US Open, Wimbledon, French Open and Australian Open. It has been estimated that during a five year period one-third of the world's best players will compete in the Cortec (named after the Cortec Corporation, a suburban St. Paul company that manufactures and develops environmentally safe chemistries to help prevent rust and corrosion).
Although the draw is not determined until close to tournament time, fans can expect to see outstanding American and foreign players. Last year, for example, Laura Granville from Chicago and Els Callens from Belgium grabbed the attention of tournament followers with their successes.
Laura became a fan favorite after advancing further than any American player, reaching the semi-finals. Laura, who won NCAA singles titles for Stanford in 2000 and 2001, kept a journal about her tournament experience for USTA.com and wrote, "Overall, I was happy with my tournament, and I had a really good time. The tournament was extremely well run, and there was a very friendly atmosphere."
Els won both the Cortec singles and doubles championships. After the Cortec tournament, she and Laura distinguished themselves at Wimbledon. Els lost 7-6, 7-6 to eventual champion Serena Williams in the third round. Laura lost in the fourth round.
Wednesday, February 26 will be League Day (USA League Tennis presented by Lincoln) and players from the Northern Section will join the traveling pros for breakfast and on-court drills. The public is welcome at League Day.
For tournament details, contact the Northern Section office, 952-887-5001.
