Boulykina & Collin! Now that is a strange combination, IMHO.
Still it's nice that Hannah's got a very good doubles partner, as I think she'll be making a very rapid exit in the singles.

A horrible draw for Helen too. Nice to see that she's back in action though :)

I think that Georgie and Katherine Baker will both be reasonably pleased with their draws. Katherine's match against Dvornikova looks winnable.

The bottom half of the draw looks MUCH stronger. Could we see an Elke V Anna-Lena semi again. Elke's main opposition should come from Boulykina, but I really can't see anyone in Anna-Lena's quarter troubling her too much.

The top half looks very open. Van De Ven and Van Hartingsveldt will both be hoping to do well, but would meet in the second round. Anyone could get through that 2nd quarter, as it's very hard to predict.

I'm been to today's matches and will be going tomorrow. No time to do a report, but I'll post some photos on my gallery Sunday/Monday.

Just to say, there was a much higher quality of tennis in Mezak's match (also both players needed the physio). Few good rallies in Galina's match. No-one broke serve (except t-b) until Galina did late in 2nd set.

Also the centre made more effort 4 spectators, putting 2 rows of seats next to the court, which they didn't @ Hull.

I've put some photos of Tipton on my WTAworld gallery. They're much better quality than the ones from Hull, because I was closer to the court, and there was no window/nets obstructing the view.
