Please don't take the thread title seriously. ;)
But can anyone explain the following to me (from Ortisei commitments):
1 MATEVZIC Maja 6/13/1980 SLO 51 MDO
Does she seriously expect that 20 players ranked ahead of her will commit to a $ 50K challenger ???
This isn't Surbiton, after all. ;)

Does she have a lot of points coming off after the Aus Open? If so she could drop in the rankings and (theoretically) not make the main draw?
Just a thought.

Maja is playing in Ortisei because she won there for the first time challenger and because people ther are very nice.
Maja lost in next two monts about 55 points.

it wouldn't have mattered if she had 1000 pts to defend in the AUS Open, she would still be in the maindraw.
they just stick MDO as they have a choice to tick the box where it says so. You don't think who will enter or not.

Thanks Eggy. :)
Well, then it's fine. I thought that players maybe had to pay an extra fee for that MDO. ;)

It says on her official site that she wants to get some matches as she didn't get to play that many in Australia

Maja has a good record in Ortesei...but I don't know why she checked the MDO box...just in case I suppose ;)
Anyway, she's now Top 50...she has the game to play and win in big events but I suppose she has her reasons.

That's good to hear that some players don't go just for the money or the ranking points, but also go to some lower tournaments because they feel well there :) .
Good luke to Maja :) .
