If Anne can beat Mara whose been in great form as well then she could make QF

see another QF between Bartoli and Sfar

Jana Nejedly vs Julie Pullin in a 25K and Julie is a seed, who'd have thought that was possible ??

bottom 1/4 is the strongest by far
and the tourn will come from there

congrats to Olga, Anne, Maria, Selima, Sandra, and especially Jana and Vanny :D

of all people Jana was going to beat, Julie had to be the one ;) Hope she can beat Jane now, and maybe get to semis (won't get too ahead of myself though ;))

I'm surprised she's even here really, her willingness to give much effort recently has been even more dismal than usual (if that's at all possible), and her fitness looked worse too. I hope she;s here to be serious about moving her rank back up and getting herself back near top 100.

too bad for Sofia, Kaia, and Dragana :(

According to Estonian media - Maret had some problems with her passport or/and visa, so she wasn't even there. And to be more exact, according to Maret - she had already sent the withdrawal note weeks before, but apparently they didn't go through...

So, at least there's nothing serious (injuries or something...)

Excuse me Boiled Egg, if its not too personal would you tell me why you don't like Sandra?

I root for Sandra because I saw her play on tv once, liked the way she played, and decided to root for this obscure Czech girl that most United States tennis fans couldn't care less about.

Thats it. I don't know a thing about her life or her personality.

Is she a snob, a b****, does she throw temper tantrums on court?

Maybe if I knew what you did, I wouldn't like her either.

Pullin and Diaz-Oliva beat Boulykina and Domachowska in straight sets, I think 6-1 in the second set. But Domachowska was easily the best player on court - just that Boulykina was easily the worst. No idea about the other doubles, it was a set all when I left between Bartoli/Webb and Lubiani/Sassi.

Firstly, the spectator facilities were better today, as they put a row of about 30 seats out, so you could watch from ground level without nets as an obstruction.

Cohen-Aloro V Kleinova:

I said that yesterday's semi-final between Nejedly and Kleinova was slow-paced. A snail would have out-run Kleinova today! The much more athletic Cohen-Aloro completely dominated today's match as the score showed.
She mostly played from the back of the court. This was understandable, given Kleinova's repeated failure to reach the wide cross-court shots.
Kleinova only held her first service game in the first set, and her service hold in the second set was to make it 3-1 when Cohen-Aloro had her only bad game of the match. By the second set, Kleinova was completely losing her composure, repeatedly complaining about line-calls, which IMHO were completely correct. Kleinova was wearing a support on her right knee, but apparently she had been wearing it all week (she certainly was yesterday). There really was never any doubt about Cohen-Aloro winning this match.

Bartoli & Webb V Diaz-Oliva & Pullin

1st set: In a poor start for Bartoli, she lost her first service game. However, she and Webb, recovered immediately to break back, and then Webb comfortably kept her serve. All game stayed with serve until the score was 5-4 to Bartoli and Webb. An interesting incident in the 8th game, was when a boy (probably about 5 y-o) ran across in front of the spectators to his seat during the middle of a point. Pullin just laughed at this interruption, but Bartoli gave the boy a real  angry glare. In the crucial tenth game, Bartoli played some powerful shots to Pullin, who they clearly thought was the weaker of their two opponents, and they succeeded in getting a break to win the set 6-4.

2nd set: All games went with serve until Bartoli & Webb were leading 3-2. However they were winning their service game VERY easily, especially Webb. Meanwhile Pullin was really struggling with her serve now. The game to make it 2-2 was a real marathon service game for Pullin, lasting about 12 minutes.
In their next service game at 2-3, Diaz Oliva served much better, but some great accuracy from Bartoli combined with a couple of bad drop-shot attempts from Pullin, got Bartoli and Webb a break to make it 4-2. They comfortably held serve. Pullin now lost her nerve badly on her own serve, throwing in a bad double fault and they only won one point as they lost the set and the match 6-2.

Now I'm going to get the photos off my digital camera.

Also my condolences go out to anyone affected by those terrible events in Bali.
