Well as you all know, I just won my R16 match against Nicole Vaidisova, which means I'm in the QF. This is my first time playing here, cuz I skipped last years event because of injury. I was too hung-over to play. Anyway, it was a really weird match. The last time we played I totally crushed her (6:0, 6:0), but it was a different story today. Nicole started too strong for me and won the first set 6:0. I knew I had to play my best to turn it around and I did. She also made some silly mistakes and that's how I basically turned the match around. We had some bad blood before so I was really nervous before the match, but everything seemed ok. So now, I'm the last Frenchie in the field, but that's nothing unusual cuz our team is pathetic.

Nathalie Dechy is a brainless ballbasher with no game plan and Alize Cornet lost in first round. :lol: She was the only seed to fall and no one seemed shocked. She's a really bad player, but I have to give her some credit. She took her chance when all the players were either injured or slumping and she won a grand slam with her (way way below) mediocre tennis. Good for her, that's all I have to say, but now she's getting a reality check. It's gonna be hard to swallow, but I hear she’s good at swallowing. The big mouthed Benesova actually won a match in this event. :eek: I know, shocking. Naturally, she lost her second one. This made me really happy and not only me. Every tennis fan was happy about that score. Daniela is a very bad player. Actually, she's not even a tennis player. She's a stick on two legs and everytime she wins a match it throws a bad light on the tour. Thank god she lost. So far, I'm enjoying the tournament. I have the crowd's support from day 1 as I'm the only French tennis player who could actually win more than one match here. The atmposhere is fantastic. I saw Daniela, Iveta and Jankovic getting booed of the court. :lol: Jankovic lost against ballbashing Ana Ivanovic and I find that extremely funny as Jankovic is the original ballbasher. Now she's getting taken over by her creations :lol: Too bad, she should seriously consider retirement. I’m playing grandma Davenport next and I’m not looking forward to the match. #12 seed Golovin was considered to be one of the main contenders before the tournament kicked off. She started to play wel again this season, retaining her title in Gold Coast, before winning a warm-up event 2 weeks ago in Rome, so she was playing with the belief and confidence that she could do well here in Roland Garros, with the French crowd behind her.

She has had some tough battles this week, going to a deciding set every match, but finding her best form late on in the matches. The R16 win over defending champion Vaidisova should give her a huge boost.

Golovin beat Safina in 3 sets in the aforementioned Rome final, as well as already winning 3 tour titles, so she will have the mental edge going into the final

#9 seed Safina was heralded as one of the favourites for this title, after a career-best few weeks. Up until just before the clay season she had not made a semi final, but has now reached 2 semi-finals as well as a Tier I final, which propelled her into the Top 10. Now she has also reached a Grand Slam final for the first time.

Safina had a titanic struggle against Dechy in her first match and was lucky to escape. She has started slow in her other matches and will be looking to get a better start against Golovin in the final.

Safina's confidence should be sky high after her last few weeks as well as beating some top players here already. She lost to Golovin a couple of weeks back in Rome, so that may play on her mind a little bit, but she knows she definitely has the game to beat her and go all the way.

French tennis star, Tatiana Golovin is the most popular player by far and it's no wonder she is the only tennis player to have her own wax doll in the famous "Madame Tussauds" museum. It seems like other players are fed up with living in the shadow of the prettiest girl on the tour and are taking their jealousy public.

The horrendously pathetic Nathalie Dechy has just accused her of being a bitch no one likes and Iveta Benesova, who rarely wins matches, decided to make a personal attack on Tatiana’s coach. “It doesn’t faze me,” said the beautiful Frenchwoman. “You can smell jealousy when you walk past them. This is the first grand slam final for the talented Frenchwoman and with a win her ranking would rise to number 3 in the world, something losers like Iveta Benesova and Nathalie Dechy can only dream about.

It's finals time in Roland Garros, a world away from where Dinara Safina's OWTT career appeared headed just 4 weeks ago. Yes it was just 4 weeks ago that Dinara Safina was on a run of four 1st round defeats and looking like her career was at the crossroads. Yet in what can only be described as a sensational show of grit,determination and sheer resiliance Dinara Safina takes centre stage at a Grand Slam Tournament in just a short time from now.

Safina will play one of her rivals Tatiana Goloving who she has struggled against in recent times and is proving a real hurdle for her. That said Safina holds the utmost respect for Golovin and will give her no concessions in this final.

As always our Robshots reporter was on hand to have a short chat with Safina in the lead up to the big one.

Q: It seems like only yesterday we sat here and joked that you would make a final soon and now it is reality, this on top of 2 consecutive semi final appearances, what does this mean to you?

A: Everything, since i was a little girl i dreamt of gracing the clay courts of Roland Garros, to be iin a final there is amazing, I will not let this go easily.

Q: How do you rate your chances against Tatiana?

A: She has proven too good for me of late. Each loss to her I have gone away and tried to think of what I can do to improve enough to beat her next time ..... hopefully this time is the one!


Q: How do you explain your sharp form reversal in the last 4 weeks?

A: Steroids ...... (laughs)..... no seriously i think i have remembered that i play to enjoy it, i relax more on court now and have fun.

Congratulation to Tatiana Golovin who storms to her first Grand Slam title, much to the delight of the French crowd. She was in devastating form all week once she got going in her matches. Safina seemed nervous today and started poorly, before playing a great second set. But with tings tied at a set apiece, she tightened once more as Golovin romped to victory. This voctory propels Golovin back into the Top 10, all the way up to #3, whilst Safina jumps up 2 spots to #7. Safina has had a great clay season and will be looking to make a good transition to the grass.

PCD's Opening act steals the show in French Open final!

Serena Williams lost early in this year's French Open, but she at least gave us a good reason why she did, she had to prepare with her group to get ready to perform in the opening act for the French Open's women final. The reigning world number 1 lost on purpose so she could be there for the sound checks and at the rehearsal according to what the creator of the Pussycat Dolls, Robin Antin, said.

The group formed of 6 sexy ladies came up on court surprising all the speactators who just weren't waiting for them at all. When everybody started getting a bit impatient, Nicole Sherzinger arrived on court singing the monster hit "Buttons" and all other 5 girls, including Serena, arrived for the chorus. Girls where singing live even if they were doing some totally sick choreagraphies.

The crowd was totally satisfied by the 1 hour and a half show, The Pussycat Dolls performed their biggest hits in "Buttons", "Don't Cha", "I don't need a men", "Stickwithu", "Wait a Minute", "When I grow Up" and some exclusive songs that are gonna be on their next record dropping in September, rumors say Serena might take a break to go touring with the group.

Serena was the first one to be interviewed after the final, the two finalists followed her with a short press conference, Serena's one with her group lasted over 2 hours. Serena was asked what she thought about the crowd and said "Well, for once they were really kind and even warm to me! When we left, people already had more than what they wanted! Half of the stadium spectators left after our show, looks like they didn't really wanted to watch tennis final on a boring surface."

Serena should be going out in clubs tonight with her chicks to party a bit after this phenomenal triumph! The world number 1 said, "I've maybe not win slams, but one thing I'm sure of the feeling of it can not be better than what I felt today. My decision of losing early was the good one."

Well I suppose all bands need their groupies. We won't be miss you Serena
