After an extremely dissappointing Roland Garros, Danielaa HAntuchova the sensation from Slovakia came on to the grass and is ready to win her second title. Daniela has made numeros Quarter finals, Semi finals and finals but is has only grabbed the indian wells title. She is in s'Hotenbosch with the hope that she will be the top dog and show everyone taht she should be in the top 2 again. Daniela experience a bad chute to number four in the world and making it a round longer then the other seeds should be enough to secure a rising in the ranks.
She was top two before her disappointing first round lost at the clay grandslam.
"Im fairly down at the moment andam un happy with my results. Im not playing like my old self. Luckily we are on grass now so I can relyy on power hitting and touch."

Hey guys and girls!

So I'm the blogger here this week in Hertogenbosch and cannot wait to let you know all about my hopefully long campaign for the title here.

I'm very happy to be back on grass! It suits my game. I like short points, I like going for it. Grass is perfect for that. And I've changed my service motion a bit in the last few weeks, which I hope will help me.

I got to 's-Hertogenbosch on Friday night, I have my first match on Monday against Nathalie Dechy. I've never played her in singles. But i think that i can win.

I've been practicing for only about an hour a day so I can save as much energy as possible for my first match. Having wanted to go right to sleep the moment I got here, I really like this city. Not only is the tournament well-organized - we have our own personal driver - but the city is very nice as well.

Another nice day in Hertogenbosch...

Because I had such a late night last night, I slept in quite a bit... and missed the cooking lessons I was supposed to do this morning! I was pretty disappointed but I must have been really exhausted from the day before. It's unfortunate as I was looking forward to it. But I had a busy afternoon anyway, doing an interview with Tyc Sports from French, practicing for two hours with Akiko Morigami, going to the gym for about 40 minutes, then a massage. Because I play singles and doubles in few days I didn't do too much.

I've got to talk about how friendly the people are here. From the housekeeper to the restaurant staff they are all so nice and polite no matter if you're winning or losing. They just wish you a nice game and not good luck
.

Dani was awfully bored yesterday and wandered through her hotel looking for a person to play for fun. It was around three thiry and bordem was etting in. She bumped into Camille Pin who was going to trhe gym, Alize wanted to play but she was recovering from jwt lag. Marta Domachowka and Agnieska Radwanska wanted to but we in the middle of an intense thumb war. Finally She stumbled across Tatiana Golovin. Tatiana Golovin was alone siting and bored as hell, so Danka approaced and they were rea=dy to play. The finally got on court and were tied at one one. BUT all tradgedy happened. It started to rain.

After last weeks doubles run at Roland Garros, Akiko Morigami is here at s'Hertogenbosch and is ready to play. Akiko made the mistake of arriving her 2 days early and as she states, "bored as hell!" "..all i've been doing is eating, sleeping, and practicing."
Her first quali round is against Patty Schnyder and Morigami is playing doubles French woman Nathalie Dechy. "I dont really know Patty, so I guess I'll just try to do my best...and me and Nat have never paired before, so I'm looking foward to how that goes."

Hello everyone!


Today I practiced for an hour with my new best friend Daniela Hantuchova, then the normal routine of running then stretching too, and today I also had a sauna. I had lunch at around 3:30pm, and then we went back to the hotel. When we got back I actually played some more tennis - with Tina! There are courts next to the hotel and she wanted to play so of course I did. She was playing well, too. She is already hitting her forehand really well, and her backhand is getting better and better. She's doing very well for five and a half years old!


There are some arcade games here I was playing and I also spent some time on the internet, but one game we play - I'm not sure what it's called in English - but you pick a letter then try thinking of names, brands, soccer teams, colors, animals, tennis players or whatever you want, that start with that letter. I was playing it a lot with my fitness coach and a friend of ours, Edmundo. Whenever you're done you say 'stop' and then you check everyone's answers, and whoever got the most wins.

Last night I went to the Suns-Grizzlies basketball game with C. I watch games a lot back home, I really enjoy basketball. Unfortunately we couldn't stay all the way to the end because I had another early match today. Daniela is a great friend, she is very nice person; Maybe I'll watch another movie today with Danka and Akiko, although I still have about 20 minutes to go in Bufor! It's pretty long (but very good!)

Safina prepares for tough opening against Paola Suarez in the 1st round of the Ordina Open. The pair have met only once previously in Rome where the Russian lost in two close sets.

'Knowing that I have never beaten her is definately a factor but then I also have to look at how much i've improved. I had a very good Roland Garros and lost to the eventual winner so you can't just concentrate on the head to head. I wouldn't say I'm confident but I'm ready I feel, this is grass not clay and I think my game is better suited than hers. It all comes down to who is the better player on the day.'

Dinara will also be playing doubles here with long time partener Flavia Pennetta.

'I definately prefer doubles. Tactically you have to be better and it's not just you you're fighting for or have to worry about. I think it's definately an advantage to have a permanent partener so you can get used to eachother. I think we have accomplished that now and are a real threat at the tournaments. Reaching the final of a Grand Slam really gave us the confidence we needed to challenge the top players in the world.'

Well its nice, though everytime I breathing I smell pot its nice. The water is nice nad the sence of pride is great. Even though there are no male peep shows IM HAPPY WITH ALL THE HOT PEOPL HERE.

Love them!!! Im so happy the dirt got away. Green is hotter than orange. It also suits my game better. I ht hard and flat and am not the greatest mover. Luckily grass suits that. A lot of people will disagree but Im happy iwth it. The season is to short.

I have loads. Agnes and I share coaches so we are close. I like Camille shes a swweet heart. Me and Dianra still trouble with the male players WINK WINK. Makiri is sweet to. Thank god you didnt ask me about the bitches.

At Roland Garros last week, French Alize Cornet stunned to quarterfinals before losing to Maria Sharapova, this dream run made her to enter the top 35 for the first time!

Interviewer: You made quarterfinals at Roland Garros, your first slam, how does that feel?

Alize: Wow! It's amazing to make good results at my home, and i have already watched so many matches at Roland Garros in my childhood with my family, and i was playing there, so it's just good feeling!

Interviewer: How special is it to play in your home?

Alize: Myabe it's proud to play there, because the people sitting on the stage are nearly all French, and they kept supporting me wherever i won! Also my family was there too, so maybe with this kind of energy, i can play my best tennis!

Interviwer: And now, it's on grass, do you expect yourself to do well here also??

Alize: Emm.. Actually i don't like grass at all, because the ball will bounce much lower and also the speed will be faster, it is not good for my playing style, but i hope i can try to suit with it by playing these tournaments before Wimbledon!

Interviwer: This time, you play with your friend, Camille Pin again, she is the best French on the tour, does she give some advices to you??

Alize: Definately, Camille is such a good player, her footwork is amazing, also she is a smart player, it is a pressure to play with her. Camille always did a good job in doubles, she always helps me to save many balls!

Interviwer: You face number seven seed, Kim Clijsters this time, do you know much about her?

Alize: Actually not much, but i know that she and the number one Jelena Jankovic share with one coach, so i think her coach definately will give some really good advice to her, but i think i won't care about those, i will just play my game and see who is better!

Hey!


Today was a day of recovery and relaxation for me. I slept in until 9, which was really nice. This morning the hairdresser came to my room and put in those fuscia extensions I've been talking about. You can see it a little bit more now, but not too much! It's quite discreet. Yesterday's appointment ended up being a bit of a misunderstanding; I'm not sure what happened but she left me a message later on that she'll come by in the morning, so it was all good. It worked out very well!

I had a light training session just to keep my rhythm, then did a light workout. I didn't want to push too hard today, just because I'm trying to get over this cold. Afterwards I got a massage, which looked really funny because I had three massage therapists working on me at once! I don't want to mention their names because they'll get angry at me, because I know they're reading my blog! Haha. I just wanted to get back to the hotel as quickly as possible so there I was with one working on my left leg, one working on my right leg... it was very nice of them!

Afterwards I came back to the hotel and haven't been doing too much since. I'm watching a bit of the Nadal-Tsonga match but I don't usually watch tennis; when I'm done my matches or practices, I'm the type of person who just wants to escape from tennis and do other things. My mom went shopping and some of my friends Alize Cornet and Daniela Hantuvocha are playing golf, but I just wanted to stay in.

After an incredible run at Roland Garros, Akiko Morigami came to s'Hertogenbosch with a bang. The Japanese contender started off by defeating Swiss Patty Schnyder in straight sets...and then later on Morigami goes on to defeat Nadia Petrova 7-5 0-6 6-4 to qualify for the main draw. Akiko comments, "..this was a great way to start off my week." "I want to thank Camille and Daniela for being in the stands and cheering me on...it really helped.."

Now Akiko enters the first maindraw round and she will have to battle an Italian in the form of Flavia Pennetta. "Well I never played her before, but im wishing for the best...im feeling good."

And dont forget to watch out for Morigami in the doubles realm, where she pairs up with French-woman Nathalie Dechy!

Hello everyone again!

Well today I won my first round match against Dechy, 62 64. It was a good match but it was tough to play because it was very, very windy. The first set was close; she had a lot of chances, so I'm glad I pulled that one out. In the second I played much better and did everything I should have done, which is always trying to stay aggressive and taking my chances but also staying consistent and keeping my errors down. That's exactly what I did and now.



Tomorrow I play with Dominika Cibulkova in the second round. She's a very good player with lots of experience. I practiced with her early in the week, and she's playing well, winning her matches pretty easily. I'll just try to do my best, and hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow too.

Although Urszula Radwanska is new to the tour, she seems to have the confidence and mental game of a veteran. The youngster from Poland, at age 17, is coming up with consistent results and big upsets in the last few tournaments. Her singles ranking is at a career high 46 coming off second and third round results in Paris and Rome, respectively. Now she has reached the second round of the Ordina Open by defeating the third seed Iveta Benesova, 6-4, 6-7, 6-2. "I felt really good about the win! I'm still trying to find a little momentum on the tour, but am very happy to have my first big upset!" When asked about her thoughts on her next opponent, Dinara Safina, she showed her nervousness: "I'm a little worried. It is a very winnable match for me, so I have to keep my unforced errors down early and gain some confidence." Urszula will be seen on court next playing with her older sister Agnieszka in doubles.

Q. Yesterday Cornet called you lucky. Today a couple balls on the line. She missed one by a millimeter. Are you lucky?

DH: Ask the other girls (smiling). Look I always say sometimes you need a bit of luck. It's obvious like in card games or something you hope it falls your way, but you can force the issue, too, push it your way, more than just to rely on pure luck. I think especially over three sets, you know, kind of you pull away the luck a little bit and it's more of how good you are really. Sometimes it comes down to the crunch. We know it on grass. We've seen it many times it's played on one point. Who takes the right decisions, who doesn't make the mistakes on big points.

Q. When you were down in the first set, what did you try to focus on? What went through your mind at that moment, down 40‑Love?

DH: I thought she was going to serve another big serve and I would be out of the set really. At this point you have no hope. It's obvious, you know. However, you hope if a couple points go your way early on and you get back to 40‑30 he could get a little bit nervous. But you don't think too much because it goes too fast. Yeah, not much.

Dinara dazzles Suarez

Russian star Dinara Safina hit past Paola Suarez today to advance into the second round in Holland. Where she will play Ulzula Radwanska of Poland.

Yes definately I felt good today, I was able to dictate the points as my game is better suited to grass than hers. After winning the 1st set I had the confidence to relax a bit more and was happy with some of the shots I hit. My game still needs a bit of work however, and this is what these warm-up tournaments are for.

Ula produced a massive shock to take out Iveta so she is obviously playing well and will be full of confidence tommorow. I'm going to have to play my best in order to stay in the competition. However she is fairly new on tour and I hope to draw on experiene to get me through. Though I'm hardly a veteran myself.

I hope I am well rested for tommorow as I still have a doubles match to play today. Whch due to the rain has been delayed. So far my doubles careeer has been most illustrious than my singles and I hope to continue that trend. My aim is to be seeded for wimbledon.

Hey everyone. I'll just continue where I left off yesterday. After writing my blog entry, we went back to the hotel, got ready and went with my best friend Daniela Hantuchova to PF Chang's, a Chinese restaurant. Although we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated it was well worth the wait because it was really good. After that, we went back to the hotel to sleep, becose Danka was very tired.

I like to sleep a lot, between eight and 10, 11 hours. Usually it's more like nine or 10. I definitely notice a big difference if I'm not sleeping enough. It's obviously harder to wake up in the morning, but also I feel tired during the day, and I yawn a lot, and that's not very good for when you are playing! But I try to forget about that when I go on the court.

So I woke up today at about 8:15am. We got breakfast next to the hotel - a big breakfast. Usually I like to eat cereal, eggs, fruits and yogurt, but today I also had other things, like home fries. And orange juice. After that we went on site and warmed up, I ate some pasta for energy, then I went on court.

I was playing really well against Dominika Cibulkova . Although I had a hard time serving, it got better at the end. I think she had some blisters on her hand, because she called for the trainer in between sets, but she was really tough in the three set and I was really happy to win. She's a good player.

Next I'm going to play Amelie Mauresmo.She probably has in her mind that I beat her last time and will be prepared. It's also hard for me to think about an old match when I'm in the middle of playing one; every match I try as hard as possible to win no matter what the score is anyway. I haven't really thought about my tactics yet but I'll talk about it tonight with my coach.

Unfortunately, I lost my quarterfinal against Amelie Mauresmo. She is playing really well; I couldn't find a way to turn the match around. The score looked easy but the games were all really tough, like lots of deuces and ad her ad me, but I just wasn't able to take advantage of those chances. But anyway I give a lot of credit to her - she played very well, and definitely deserved the win. Of course I'm a little tired but I feel good and I have no injuries and I still feel pretty confident despite my loss today.

I have the rest of the day off, so we're definitely going to go and see some of the city today. Yesterday I told you guys I wasn't going to stay in the room but I did! I was just on the internet a lot, not doing much at all except resting and spending time with Daniela Hantuchova. We did go out at night to that same Italian restaurant but that was about it. A very relaxed day.

Today, Alize and I played a good match and beat Urusula and Agnieska, in doubles match. They were very tough on green; Ursula has been a Top 40 player in the past and is very experienced as well, so we knew we'd have a tough match. But it was also very windy and the Sun was getting in our eyes, so it's a great one to get through in light of the conditions

Ice baths, Prison Break, press conferences, TV interviews, practice and watching the Kim-Akiko match sums up my preparation yesterday. You can probably guess which activity I enjoyed the least! I began taking ice baths last year and they've become an important part of my recovery process. The first time I took one it was almost painful - I was screaming. The way it works is that I spend two minutes in the ice bath, then two minutes in a hot shower and I repeat this three or four times. It's obviously not very pleasant to feel such coldness, but while in the bath I just think how much it is benefiting me. Last year I dreaded them but now I see the benefits so I actually volunteer to take them.

No matter what the result, we will have a big party at my uncle's house because it's his birthday. He will combine it with kind of a post-tournament celebration for me, which is very kind of him. I haven't had the chance to go out to Mentone during the tournament.

Today, Alize and me practiced about three hours and 20 minutes in the morning becose tonight we play quarterfinal, then had some lunch, then had another two and a half hours of practice in the afternoon. As you can probably guess, I'm a little tired now! I'm just watching some music videos on TV - Nelly Furtado is showing her 10 favorite videos, and I do agree with her on a lot of them. I actually like her a lot, not just because of her music and her voice, but it doesn't hurt that she's Portuguese :) She's Portuguese-Canadian, actually. I've also been listening to a lot of hip-hop recently, and a bit of rap. I'll probably look for a movie soon, and if there aren't any on I'll go back to my book from yesterday.

Preview

This is a surprising final as both players have never reached semifinals or better in their previous tournaments, also Tatiana and Kim are long-time rival, this final will be their fifth meeting!! Grass is completely different from clay, so everything is gonna to be happened!

Tatiana Golovin, who has been slumping after her Australian hardcourt season, proved that her new outfit with red pants give her some great results. Also her way to the final are impressive, haven't dropped a set yet, her game is really aggreesive, she keens to play really well at the beginning of each sets, her win over Martina Hingis is so surprising as Martina had won over world number one Margalita Chakhnashvili with two bagels and Elena Dementieva with a double bagels!! Also Tatiana and Kim are long-time rival, although Tatiana doesn't have the advantage, but Tatiana must do well as she really wants to win over Kim!!

And how about Kim?? Kim's coach has been really famous at the time, coaching Jelena Jankovic to win the Roland Garros and be the new number one last week, and this time his other player Kim reached her first final, and on the dangerous grass. But Kim's way to the final is not that comfortable, compare with Tatiana's, she even downs match points against Dinara Safina in the quarterfinal, finally Dinara's mental was not that tough, and Kim won 7-6 5-7 8-6 in a three-hour thriller!! But will her coach give some really good advice that he gave to Jelena in Roland Garros?? This will be the key for Kim!!

Who will win on this beautiful grass courts?? Catch up the final at 8:00 pm(Perth time)!!

Ranings projection

This is probarly the most important thing that Tatiana and Kim wants to know!!;)

If Tatiana won the tournament, Tatiana will be ranked #35, and Kim will be ranked #17!!
