louisa. Aug 11th, 2008, 03:09 PM she's doing enough against cara. but i doubt that she'll be able to win playing like this against some tougher opponents

Wayn77 Aug 11th, 2008, 03:09 PM Ridiculous... She shouldn't be playing.
I'm sick of all these injuries.
Pull out, pull out of the USO as well.
Mikey. Aug 11th, 2008, 03:12 PM She is pretty hopeless out there now. She can hardly win her own service game. :tape:
supergrunt Aug 11th, 2008, 03:12 PM The trainer is out.
BWLH Aug 11th, 2008, 03:15 PM She's just there to PLEASE those Olympic organisers or else she'll need to hand in her medical report.
I expect she retires soon after this.
davenportdude Aug 11th, 2008, 03:16 PM Jelena :help:
$uricate Aug 11th, 2008, 03:17 PM She still has better movement than Shuai though
Bijoux0021 Aug 11th, 2008, 03:19 PM She just had her right calf rewrapped by the trainer.
dl05 Aug 11th, 2008, 03:27 PM OMG, retiring isnt shameful Jelena, it's called self-preservation:o
She cannot possibly think about continuing, it's purely her highly patriotic urge that's keeping her out there:o
Agata. Aug 11th, 2008, 03:29 PM poor Jelena  she's really looking like she doesn't want to be there. Those injuries :(
Ballbasher Aug 11th, 2008, 03:30 PM If she loses this set, she'll retire,it'd be better for her!
hablo Aug 11th, 2008, 03:30 PM she looks really tired yes...

Phew, because usually channelsurfing works for me too.
I was starting to wonder what was wrong with my laptop.
Elwin Aug 11th, 2008, 03:46 PM Jelena  Just withdraw, this is not right!
Vamos. Aug 11th, 2008, 03:56 PM I'm really bored of the farcical that is Jelena Jankovic. It is beyond a joke now.
And people argue that she doesn't play too much. :tape:
Rumkin Aug 11th, 2008, 03:58 PM Jelena  Just withdraw, this is not right!
really?!..Jelena http://www.vol.nl/images/smiles/emo.gif
tae04 Aug 11th, 2008, 04:00 PM Well she didn't have to do much to beat Cara, even Alexandra has beaten Cara this year so.. LOL. First decent player JJ draws, she'll lose lol
I Heart Masha Aug 11th, 2008, 04:01 PM How ironic that people criticize the players for withdrawing from this Olympics en masse and then in the next breath berate Jelena for not doing the same.
People are different. What drives them is different. Maybe JJ is more patriotic than some want to believe. Maybe she would rather die on the court than quit. That is her right.
Lay off. She should be commended for making the effort to play through pain for her country.
RenaSlam. Aug 11th, 2008, 04:35 PM I respect Jelena for playing for her country and the spirit of the Olympic Games.
However, it is clear she plays TOO many tournaments a year, which is why she runs out of steam at the major events.

That's a fair comment Rena, not gonna argue with that.
In saying that JJ was relatively injury free in 2007 with a far heavier schedule. From memory only a turned ankle early in the season playing Mauresmo at Doha.
Once the niggles start though, without proper recuperation they tend to pile up.
moriah Aug 11th, 2008, 04:47 PM Respect JJ
Julian Aug 11th, 2008, 06:37 PM okay she would be hammered for withdrawing and now she is hammered from playing?? WTF
glad she pulled out this win btw. please get well JJ
