Venus was so close her today. Up a set and a break, but Dementieva hung tough and ran away with it in the third set. She moves on to the semis here in Miami, and is looking like she is finding some good form again after recent on-court struggles

Wow!! 11 CTs in that first set, and lucky for Safarova she got the decisive one. This was such a great tussle - it's ashame one of them had to lose. Nice to see Dulko playing her way into form though as she has struggled with her results recently

Hingis really looked like she had this wrapped up at 4-0 in the decider, but Craybas came roaring back to take out last week's champion, winning the final 6 games of the match. Maybe Hingis ran out of steam, but Craybas is back into the form that saw her win her debut title a couple fo weeks ago

So similar to Safarova's QF aganst Dulko - once again 11 CTs in that first set, and lucky for Safarova she got the decisive one yet again. Real tough luck for Craybas who would have gone on to win the final if the CTs had goen her way. Nevertheless, Safarova moves on where she will try to dthrone the defending champion

Lucie Safarova wins her first OWTT Tour title and does it in a huge Tier I tournament. She had some really tough matches all week, but was impressive on seeing off the #12, #6, #4 and #3 seed off. This will see her ranking jump up to #13 and will give her a huge confidence boost for the rest of the season. Olaru came up against a better player today as she comes up just short of defending her title but she hould be happy with her efforts this week, including a great win over #1 Dementieva
