AUCKLAND, New Zealand - ATC's World #18 Daniela Hantuchova suffers yet another first round loss at the ASB Classc in Auckland to World #6 Kim Clijsters 7-5, 7-5. Daniela held leads of 4-2 in the first set and 3-1 in the second set but couldn't close the scrappy Belgian out. Daniela said, "Kim is obviously a very good player coming onto the tour last year and finishing at #6 in the world. I've felt like I played somewhat of a good match like controlling the rallies with my groundstrokes but Kim always seems to get that extra ball back."

Daniela has a horrendous record in the early goings of the season. Last year, she didn't win a match until the grass season. :tape: But she knows with a little bit more hard work and dedication, she'll reach her goal of winning ONE match during the rebound ace and clay seasons. "They are my two worst surfaces but I'm still encouraged. During the off-season, I was training hard unlike some players who were partying who couldn't make their debut here. :angel: I'm really sad about this loss but I'm going to try and forget this loss and try and kick everyone's arses next tournament. :angel:

Daniela's next tournament will be the Medibank International in Sydney.
