Pesaro is a town and comune (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comune) in the Italian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italy) region of the Marche (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marche), capital of the Pesaro e Urbino province (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Province_of_Pesaro_e_Urbino), on the Adriatic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adriatic_Sea). According to the 2003 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003) census, its population was 91,400.
Fishery (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fishery), furniture industry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furniture) and tourism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourism) are the main points in the local economy
The city was founded as Pisaurum by the Romans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Rome) in 184 BC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/184_BC) as colony in the territory of the Piceni (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piceni), the people who lived in the Marche during the Iron Age (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Age). A settlement of the latter tribe, one of their most ancient, has been found at Novilara. The northern Piceni were invaded in the 4th century BC by the Senones (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senones) Gauls, and when the Romans reached the area the population was a mix of the two races.
Under the Roman administration Pesaro, a hub across the Via Flaminia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Via_Flaminia), became an important center of trading and craftmanship. After the fall of the Western Empire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Roman_Empire), Pesaro was occupied by the Ostrogoths, and destroyed by Vitigis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitigis) (539) in the course of the Gothic War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_Wars_%286th_century%29). Hastily rebuilt five years later after the Byzantine reconquets, it formed the so-called Pentapolis, part of the Exarchate of Ravenna (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exarchate_of_Ravenna). After the Lombard and Frank conquests of that city, Pesaro became part of the Papal States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papal_States).

London (pronounced (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPA_chart_for_English) /ˈlʌndən/) is the capital (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital) city of England (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/England) and the United Kingdom (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom). The ancient City of London (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_London) to which the name originally belonged still retains its tiny mediaeval boundaries; but the name "London" has long applied more generally to the whole metropolis which has grown up around it.
An important settlement for around two millennia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_London), London is today one of the world's leading business (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business), financial (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finance) and cultural (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural) centres,[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-0) and its influence in politics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics), education (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education), entertainment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entertainment), media (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_media), fashion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fashion) and the arts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arts) all contribute to its status as one of the major global cities (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_city).[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-1)[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-2)[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-3)[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-4)
London is the most populous city within city limits (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Largest_cities_of_the_European_Union_by_population _within_city_limits) in the European Union (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union)[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-5)[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-6) with an official population of 7.7 million (as of 2007)[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-7) and has a metropolitan area (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_area) population of between 12 and 14 million people.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-8)[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-9) Its diverse population draws from a wide range of peoples, cultures and religions, speaking over 300 different languages. London is an international transport (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_and_infrastructure_in_London) hub, with five international airports (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_airport) and a large port (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_of_London). It serves as the largest aviation hub in the world,[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-10) and its main airport, the multi terminal Heathrow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heathrow_Airport), carries more international passengers than any other airport in the world.[13] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London#_note-11) It also has Europe's largest underground railway system (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metro) when measured by route length.

Iława is a town (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Town) in northeastern Poland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poland) with 33,912 inhabitants (2006).
It is situated in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warmian-Masurian_Voivodeship) (since 1999); previously it was in Olsztyn Voivodeship (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olsztyn_Voivodeship) (1975-1998). It is the capital of Iława County (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%C5%82awa_County).
The town was founded in Prussia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prussia_%28region%29) in 1305 and is documented in a manuscript by Luther von Braunschweig (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luther_von_Braunschweig) in 1317. It was build on the Eylenz (Iławka) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%C5%82awka) River between Lakes Geserich (Jeziorak) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeziorak) and Eylenz (Iławskie) (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=I%C5%82awskie_%28lake%29&action=edit&redlink=1). This location makes it a popular vacation area. The town was under the jurisdiction of the komtur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Komtur) of Christburg (Dzierzgoń) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dzierzgo%C5%84) and since 1340 under Osterode (Ostróda) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostr%C3%B3da). In 1457 it was sold to King Casimir IV Jagiellon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casimir_IV_Jagiellon) of Poland during the Thirteen Years' War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirteen_Years%27_War) between the cities of Prussia and the Teutonic Order (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teutonic_Order). With the aid of Ulrich von Kinsberg the city was able to regain its independence from Poland.[citation needed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)]
As Deutsch Eylau, the town became part of the Duchy of Prussia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duchy_of_Prussia) in 1525 and the Kingdom of Prussia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Prussia) in 1701. Administered within the new province of West Prussia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Prussia) in 1773, it became part of the German Empire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Empire) in 1871.

Versmold is a town in Gütersloh District (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%BCtersloh_%28district%29) in the German (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany) state of North Rhine-Westphalia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Rhine-Westphalia). It is located some 30 km west of Bielefeld (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bielefeld).
Belonging to Westphalia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westphalia), Versmold formed the western most town of the historical county of Ravensberg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ravensberg) with its capital Bielefeld (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bielefeld). Since 1614 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1614) the county belonged to Brandenburg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandenburg) and later to Prussia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prussia). Within the the predominant Catholic Westphalia, the county of Ravensberg is Protestant. In 1719 the King of Prussia granted city rights in order to raise more taxes. In the 19th century the county was poor and subsistence oriented. Only the linen production is worthy to note. During the harvest season many people sought for an additional income in Holland. During the 1850s and 1860s the city saw an extensive emigration to America, because of the weak economic situation. Many of them settled in the Midwest, especially Missouri and Texas. After 1871 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1871) when the newly united Germany (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany) built up a navy, the linen-industry became prosperous by providing sailing canvases. Most notably engaged in the linen-industry was the family Delius. In the 1820s some members of the family emigrated to Mexico (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico) where they established a flourishing import-export business. By the late 19th century they had representations in Berlin and Hamburg.

The city stands on the Ping river (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping_River), a major tributary of the Chao Phraya river (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chao_Phraya_River).
In recent years, Chiang Mai has become an increasingly modern city, although it lacks the cosmopolitan nature of Bangkok. It has many attractions for the thousands of foreign visitors who come each year. Chiang Mai's historic importance is derived from its important strategic location on an ancient trade route. Long before the modern influx of foreign visitors, the city served as an important centre for handcrafted goods, umbrellas, jewelry (particularly silver) and woodcarving.
