Bangalore, IND - Yugoslavian-born tennis player, Monica Seles, played her second Original Women's Tennis Tour tournament in Bangalore, India. As one of the newcomers on the Tour, Seles played her opening round match in the qualifying tournament. Seles battled Austrian sensation, Tamira Paszek, in a competitive match that featured screaming winners and loud grunts. Seles came out the victor 7-5 7-6(7).

"I was so happy to come through that match. I was up for most of it, but Tamira really picked up her game in the second set, and then it got really close," Seles said. The second set was over an hour long, and featured some of the most tremendous rallies of the match. At 5-5 in the tiebreak, Seles and Paszek were engaged in a twenty-stroke rally, and Seles let her guns blaze with a forehand winner that scraped the outside of the line. "Honestly, that shot lifted my spirits. Against these players, especially Tamira, you just have to give it your all. She can hit winners from any position, and because I know what she's capable of, I couldn't be nervous".

Seles' second match was against another qualifier, Anastasia Pivovarova. Seles won this match in three sets, 3-6 6-0 6-4, and advanced to the Round of Sixteen. "Yes, this match was also great for my confidence. Anastasia advanced through the qualifying, but I knew she was dangerous," Seles pronounced. "Even though I lost the first set, I was happy to regroup and come through with the win".

The third match for the American was against Tatiana Golovin from France. Unfortunately, Seles was unable to continue her terrific streak and fell 5-7 6-3 6-4. "Wow, I had a grat time against Tatiana. She's such a beautiful girl!" Seles mentioned. "I knew I had to play my best, and I thought I did. Most of my shots were deep and flat, but Tati has seen them a million times. She just hit winner after winner, and she picked it up right at the end to win".

When asked if Seles truly believed she could compete with the top named, Seles mentioned that she still has a lot to learn. "I've only played a handful of matches, so far, but I'm competing really well. I've taken my opportunities in the matches that I've had opportunities to actually win. Against Tatiana, she had too much game, but I'm improving and doing really well! I just can't wait ot continue playing matches, learning more about my self and others along the way".

If it had gone the other way, Salerni would have won 7-6 7-6 and gone on to win the title, so real hard luck for her. But it is Serena who books her spot in the final, where she will face Ivanovic, whom she has a healthy H2H lead over.

Congratulations to Ana Ivanovic for winning her first OWTT title, having come up short in her 2 previous finals, both coming in Grand Slam tournaments. Serena will be disappointed as she came in with a great H2H advantage over her opponent, but she got off to a slow start. Although she started to stage a comeback in the second, it wasn't enough. Nevertheless, she closes the gap on Dementieva at #1 nicely.

Williams claimed that the skanky Serb acted in a very disrespectful way to her semifinal opponent and to her in the final and that the Tournament Director should have disqualified her or simply thrown her out of the Tour.

After losing her final Serena Williams said, "I came here to win, but when I saw the way Ivanobitch was moaning to celebrate each point she won, even on my double faults! I was like "Oh My Gosh! This girl is a total moanwhore!" If I would have been the director I would have stepped on court and do something."

Tatiana Golovin totally agreed with what Serena Williams said and to show her she was with her, she threw a water bottle to Ivanovic's head during the trophy ceremony. Serena Williams sadly couldn't see it as she left right after the defeat, she came to the net, spit on Ivanovbitch, slapped her in the face and then ran to pack her things and leave the court.

In a press conference Serena said, "I didn't care for a damn piece of shit about this final when after playing 2-3 games I saw my opponent's attitude that was totally disgraceful, I just wanted to leave the court as quick as possible, I won four games in the second set but decided to not make it last longer, skanky Serb didn't deserve the honor of playing against me, I hope she'll be banned of the Tour. Plus her game is the most boring ever, ball bashing, the only strategy that can be played without a brain."
