JJ Wins Second Title

Jankovic won her second title against the no.4 seed Alona Bondarenko 6-4 6-2. The match ended in just 2 quick sets although it was expected to be a 3 setter. Even then the match did lived up to expectations despite a one-sided second set. Many people thought Alona would win but against all odds JJ won her match. The crowd was evenly supportive and cheered for every point.

Some qoutes:
I am very happy that i won my second title though i am a bit sad for Alona. She is a great player but today she couldn't win. I had ups and downs in the match but i am very happy that i was able to finish it in 2 sets. Alona had some chances in the first but she coundn't take them..It just wasn't her day.''

''Actually i am a bit shocked that it ended in 2 sets . I was expecting it to be a 3-seter like everyone else. I wish best of luck to Alona in future. She still is the best player in the world at the moment.''

JJ had to play 12 sets in the tournament..she lost only two sets enroute to the title. Once against Mary Pierce in the semis and once against Aravane Rezai. Overall JJ did play fabulous tennis this week and made her coach and fans proud. She hopes to do well at the French Open and improve her ranking of no.10!!
