Sharapova Ready With New Perspective

Italy, Rome - Maria Sharapova have come to Rome here after a sad week for her and her coach. Maria Sharapova had been riding an 8 match winning streak before losing to number 2 seed, Daniela Hantuchova in the Quarterfinals. During the tournament, her coach couldn't be there because his friend died. "He is very distressed and tennis is the last thing on his mind right now, and I understand. But he will be back with me this tournament and he has taught me a lot about life. When I called him after my loss, he said "A loss is just a loss, it's a game, it's part of life. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win, you can't win everything" and that has given me a different perspective on life. I am thankful to be alive everyday."

Maria Sharapova has moved up to number 13 in the world and is the number 13 seed for this tournament. She will face Ana Ivanovic in the first round match and could set up a second round clash against Jie Zheng, who shares a coach with Sharapova. The first seed she could meet is in the third round, number 5 seed Tatjana Malek, and could set up another quarterfinal match against number 2, Daniela Hantuchova.

After a disappointing week last week, Zheng will be looking for a good draw here but instead, she got Maria Sharapova, the number 13 seed and her hitting partner, in the second round, if they are both to win their opening matches. She will face Lindsay Davenport of the USA in the first round. If she is to win against Maria Sharapova, she could meet number 5 seed, Tatjana Malek and then in the quarterfinals, number 10 seed, Serena Williams or number 2 seed Daniela Hantuchova. A possible semis matchup is against, world number 3, Maria Kirilenko. In the other half of the draw are, world number 1 Margalita Chaknishvilli and number 4 Agnes Szavay.

I assume Safarova/Dulko, Haynes/Pierce and Sugiyama/dellaqua are still togeteher!

DRAMA IN ROME

A deranged fan of Indian tennis star Sania Mirza reportedly broke into the player’s hotel room last night, passing himself off as room service. Mirza, currently preparing for a tier 1 event in Rome, was not able to comment on the subject, but her coach e5dawsonj had this to say about the matter: “all I can say right now is that Sania is safe and still aims to compete in Rome”. Unconfirmed reports state that the fan barged his way into the hotel room after the 21 year old opened the door to what she thought was room service.
“How this man actually got as far as he did is still beyond us” the hotel manager said. “The police are currently observing CCTV footage over the past 24 hours and trying to get to the bottom of it.”

Sania Mirza has spoken for the first time about a deranged fan barging into her hotel room in Rome, Italy.
“Well it all happened so quickly” said the 21 year old. “I heard a knock on the door, the guy said ‘room service’, which was weird because I hadn’t ordered anything. So I opened the door to tell him that he had made a mistake. Looking back I should have just shouted through the door. But anyway I opened the door and he just ran in my room. He ran straight into the living area shouting something in Italian. I just ran into the bathroom and locked myself in. luckily I had my phone with me so I called my coach e5dawsonj. Erm, so he said to me just stay calm and help is on the way. It was about 5 minutes before the police actually got there. During that time the man was banging on the bathroom door shouting 'I love you Sania', as well as other things which I couldn’t understand. It erm, yeah it really shook me up. I was actually considering pulling out of the Rome tournament, but I have decided to stay.”
When asked what she thinks her chances are of winning this tournament, she Indian said “lets not get ahead of ourselves (laughs). I mean this is just my second event, and I’ve yet to win a match so I’ll be happy win a single win considering the circumstances!”

Rome, Italy - Just one night after Sania Mirza was attacked in her hotel room, Maria Sharapova experienced the same thing. But this time, he was waiting in the room and attacked Sharapova when she got back from practice. Luckily, she had a racket in her hand and hit him/it with it once before he passed out. She unmasked him/it and identified this face:

That is the picture of him/it, as Sharapova identified and Mirza has also confirmed this. No, it's not his/its face after he got bashed, it's his/it's face before [:lol:]. We could not put a picture of his/its face after this, as it is too hideous. We are currently interviewing other players playing in the tournament, and some has seen him/it around the player's area, impostering as, the press, room service, and was the stripper at the player's party. A lot of people are suspecting that he's/it's been trying to "rape" the players even though Mirza and Sharapova has denied these claims. Counselors are available for distressed players. The hotel will also provide stronger security around the hotel.

As of now, we do not know what his/its intentions are but is in jail at the moment. If anyone has any information on this man/thing, please contact the police.

Q: Maria, can you describe your day leading to the attack
Maria Sharapova: Well I woke up at 9 am and went ot breakfast, at about 10 am I went to practice. I finished at about 1 pm and was going to my room to take a shower. And that's when the attack happened.

Q: How did he attack?
Maria Sharapova: It was a big blur, it happened so quickly. He came out of my closet which was pretty scary. He had one of my... revealing underclothing in his hands. I don't know what he was doing with them, but it was really scary.

Q: What did you do after that?
Maria Sharapova: Well, coming off practice I had a racquet obviously, so I hit him with it. That was the first thing that came to mind. And then I took off his mask when he was unconscious.

Q: Have you seen him prior to the attack?
Maria Sharapova: Actually, I saw him around the hotel and I think he was a stripper at the player's party. And I thought I saw him holding hands with another player, all I remember is that after that, she went into a BIG slump.

Q: And you can't remember who?
Maria Sharapova: I'm not mentioning any names.

Q: He didn't do anything to you?
Maria Sharapova: Fortunately, no.

She say goodbye

The French Camille Pin said good bye this Tuesday for the tournament of Rome in Italy.
It is the second time that the French says goodbye so rapidly of E.W.T.A's tournament.
On having finished the match camille said :
- Unfortunately, I lost my first round against Elena Dementieva today. She is playing really well; I couldn't find to way to turn the match around. The score looked easy but the games were all really tough, like lots of deuces and ad her ad me, but I just wasn't able to take advantage of those chances. But anyway I give to lot of credit to her - she played very well, and definitely deserved the win. Of course I'm to little tired but I feel good and I have do not insult and I still feel pretty confident despite my loss today. -

Multiplied happiness

In the tournament of Rome in Italy the happiness were great.
The young Argentina and future of the country, Betina Jozami defeat your best friend the French Alize Cornet for 6-3 6-1 in 1 hr of game. The Argentina juice the first very good set and in the second one I squash her.
Argentine other one that earn was Maria Emilia Salerni that I defeat to the Russian Vera Zvonareva 6-3 4-6 6-0 in two hours.
Others of the Argentine ones that I take a happiness to him(you,them) was the experienced Paola Suarez that I win the Russian Dinaria Safina for 6-4 7-6 in 2 hours of game.
The one that perdio in the today day was Gisela Dulko that was overcome by Urszula Radwanska by 6-4 5-7 6-3

I won my first match ever! Go Ula!! I also lost my first match. Oh well, Dechy!

Indian star Sania Mirza fell in the 1st round of Rome on Tuesday, losing in straight sets to Maria Kirilenko of Russia. Mirza, 21, who’s hotel room was broken into earlier in the week by a obsessive fan, was not able to find her rhythm against the more experienced opponent. Mirza refused to blame the loss on the incident earlier in the week. “I’m not going to sit here and make excuses. I was not good enough today, she played more aggressive and went for her shots.”
Mirza’s coach e5dawsonj was not so convinced. “who knows what would have happened today were it not for that maniac on Sunday. I think it definitely effected her concentration, but what can you do? Hopefully she will get some confidence back in the doubles.”

ROBSON LOSES DEBUT MATCH

Britain’s Laura Robson put up a good fight, but fell short to the experienced Daniela Hantuchova in Rome. At 14 years old, Robson was the youngest player in the competition, but that wasn’t an issue she insisted. “I don’t think my age played much of a factor” said Robson. “I actually think I played very well for a debut match, but she (Hantuchova) was just that little bit better today”. When asked about the prospect of facing Hantuchova in the future, the Brit quickly replied “I’ll take her dooown!” (;))
