Nicole Vaidisova Works With Robert Lansdorp

For the past couple of months tennis star Nicole Vaidisova has been plagued by an afflicting shoulder injury. Just when it seemed as her career may be in jeopardy doctors have noticed some improvement an Vaidisova is expected to be back to 100% physically in no time. Mentally however she is a player with a broken spirit and depleted confidence. In order to salvage what has been a terrible ending to a once terrific season for the young Czech, Vaidisova and her coach Justin have brought in legendary tenis coach Robert Lansdorp to work on her game and give her a confidence boost coming in to the Year Ending Championships. When asked about her chances at the YEC Vaidisova stated, "Obviously I'm in poor form and although my shoulder is on the right track I am still not 100% physically or mentally. I just have to hope for some magic on court."

Great win for Ivanovic here. SHe was already 0-2 so knew she couldn't qualify and went out today playing without any pressure. Similarly, Serena was already through so no pressure on her to win this one either. The CT gave Ivanovic the win, and she was just a tad better in the decider, with many close games going the Serb's way.

Disastrous start for the #1 here, but she turned things around nicely and won a really tight deciding set. Cibulkova was so close in the decider with lots of gaes being decided by just a point or two!

Such a tense decider here between these two. Dulko got the early lead but was unable to carry on. 2 CTs at the end of the set show how tight these two were. Just one extrea point in one of those CT games and Dulko would have taken it on a tie-break!

Amazing match between these two here. Peer led 5-1 in the second set before Vaidisova came roaring back to 5-5 and looked liek she would win it, but Peer fended off 2 match points in the tie-break to send it into a dcider, which was also a tense affair, with Peer able to hold on to an early break.

The hottest 2 players on tour right now made it to the YEC final, and it is only fitting that it would be such a tight affair. Almost every game was decided by just a few points, and in the end it was Dementieva who came through on a third set tie-break to avenge recent losses in the Moscow final and the round robin stage here. Dementieva wins her first major title after mediocre performances at the Slams this year. Serena has had an outstanding second half to her season and should be pleased with her performance here this week.
