Welcome to Quebec City, Canada, the final stop on tour before the Year End Championships and Linz next week. This is the last chance for players to try and claim a spot in the Year End Champs, or boost their ranking for seedings in Linz.

Serena has won the last 3 tournaments and looks unstoppable right now. But her streak has to come to an end sometime right? Can anyone do it here? Also hitting headlines in the mysterious non-activity of Olaru - the world #5 has missed the last 2 tournaments, missing out on vital points, and it is unknown whether she will be fit to play in the season ending championship next week.

Serena was asked to talk about a bit about some girls of the tour in an interview for Le Journal L'Équipe, here's wahst it looked like:

Elena Dementieva: She seems to be a pretty kind girl. I don't know her much, I beat her in Moscow but she wasn't mad after the match and even was really nice. She came out to cheer for me in the final I played against Dechy. I think she's a good number one and a good person, but I'd be a better number one... (laughter)

Nicole Vaidisova: Can we say the word slut in Le Journal L'Équipe... well I'll say it, she's a freaking slut, she is dating Radek Stepanek! Disgusting! She sucks as a person and as a tennis player, she beat me more than once but I won our last meeting and won't lose any of our upcoming ones.

Gisela Dulko: I don't know her and I never beat her if my memory is good, well she's a good tennis player.

Serena Williams: Isn't she the awesome player who just won 15 matches in a row? She's my favorite player, when she's fully commited to tennis, she can totally dominate this sport, plus she's a real good friend to have, I hope you can meet her one day!

Ioana-Raluca Olaru: She's in the top 5, but who is she? I don't know, I hope she doesn't show up at the YEC so my best friends can come.

Dominika Cibulkova: I don't remember if I'm supposed to hate her or not... well I beat her in our last meeting and it was pleasant to see her getting frustrated when I was sominating points.

Nathalie Dechy: What a fu*king bitch! She is always in my legs! Shw knows how to play against me so she sleeps with the Tour Director so she can be in my part of the draw, I hopes she gets thrashed out at the YEC.

Shahar Peer: Such a sweet girl, you have to know her! At the beginning of the year we were not good friends but I'm real glad we got to know each other better, she's struggling lately but I'm sure things will get better for her soon.

Ana Ivanovic: Don't know her...

Lindsay Davenport: NIce lady, I'm anxious for us to play together at the Fed Cup again, I'll be the captain again, but I'm mostly anxious cause I'll get to team up with her again.

Jelena Jankovic: Ball Basher

Tatiana Golovin: She likes drama but she's such a funny girl, she always finds a way to make me laugh. She has been number one, she's a great tennis player too.

Caroline Wozniacki: She won Wimbledon! What a surprise! But she's struggling sice then, I hope she gets back on track soon.

Alize Cornet: A little bitch who still has a lot to learn but one thing she has learned, don't make Ree angry cause she's a much better at bitching than you!

I like this game too much to worry about deadlines, I used to play around 5 different games, now I only play OWTT because u get enough in one week to keep you occupied and happy, as long as i check once a day thats enough.

After her Wimbledon title, Caroline Wozniacki suffered a very big slump period. She had a lot of first round losses, but managed to get some wins in the past weeks. This week, the chances for Caroline to get out of her slump look impossible as she had a possible encounter against the hot American, Serena Williams, in second round. However, she had to face Martina Muller in the first round action here in Quebec.
“I was really happy to get through this match. I mean, when you have a long and tie match, it’s always good for the confidence to win this type of match. I have never played against Muller before so I didn’t know what I had to expect from her. She took the control of the match but I managed to win it.” said Caroline.
Then, in the second round, Miss Wozniacki didn’t have to face Serena, as the American lost to Salerni.
“I had a lot of difficulty to play against Marie Emilia Salerni. My game doesn’t fit her. So, I lost the two matches I played against her. Fortunately for me, it was my time to get my revenge. Things seems to go the same way as it goes in our previous match when Salerni served an ace to close out the first set 6-1. In the second set, I started to play better and when for my shots. I began to be more aggressive and tried to take the control of the match. At 5-5, I broke Salerni’s serve to level the match at one set all. In the decisive set, every shot were winners for me and I cruised into quarterfinals with a 1-6, t-5 and 6-0 win.” said Wozniacki.
In the quarterfinal, the Denmark player faced off Iveta Benesova for a spot in the semifinal.
“After two wins under my belt, I felt like I could beat Benesova. I knew I had great chance to beat her and it was definitely a great opportunity for me to reach my third semifinal on Tour. But I also knew Iveta would be ready to fight and she would give everything she had to beat me. Effectively, Iveta was a really tough nut to crack. It was a really tense match and it could have gone either way. I think the only difference in this match was my experience on Tour. For sure, I am again a new girl here, but my run to Wimbledon gave me lots of experience and it helps me for the key moments during the match.”
She finally get another win to reach her second final here, on the OWTTour, by defeating Daniela Hantuchova in three sets match of 6-2, 4-6 and 6-3.
“I wasn’t afraid to play Hantuchova. I knew she was a good player but I really believed in my chance to win this match. Things didn’t go my way in the second set. I had some bad line calls at the end of the second set and that’s why I lost it. I lost my concentration and Daniela took advantage of it. I gave her the credits for this. But I claimed back my game in the third and I broke Daniela’s serve at 1-0 and then, I never looked back. Now, I am going to face Jelena Jankovic in the final. I am 1-0 in the final stage. Jankovic leads our H2H 2-1, but I got the win the last time we met, last week. I know what kind of game Jelena plays but she’s really in form and both of us can win the title. Both of us will fight very hard to claim the last title before the YEC. Unfortunately, I won’t be a part of the YEC because I slumped after my Wimbledon title but I don’t mind. This gives me experience on Tour and now, I am ready for big success. It’s really cool to play well like this. It’s the end of the season and I am really happy to end my season on a good note. I will be ready to begin the next season on good sensations. I would love to win the title, it would be the cherry on the Sundae. :p “ said Miss Caroline.

Wozniacki finally follows up her Wimbledon title with another title, coming here in Quebec. She seems to have struggled sinc winning on the big stage on her debut but has been more promising as of late, culminating in her win here. She will look to do well in Linz next week, and the start of next season. Another decent week for Jankovic after a mini-slump of late!
