TT Olympics

This is the thread where you can commit for the Olympics.

Please ONLY post your commitments here.

The rules for the Olympics are as follows:

4 players, maximum, per nation.

You may play as your REAL nation or the nation you represented in Fed Cup. You will not be allowed to play as any other. Cincinnati is the same week, you can play there.

60 direct entrants for singles, 4 WCs.
30 direct entrants for doubles, 2 WCs.
WCs are reserved for extreme circumstances and will probably not be used. In place of them, entrants will be the # 61, 62, etc.

If you are the only one from a certain nation, you may play singles and not doubles. If you are unable to make the singles entry cut, you may play doubles and not singles. Etc etc.

The deadline for this event will be August 1st, 2008 so everyone is well aware of which tournament they can play. If unable to enter in the Olympics, the Tier III event in Cincinnati is your option. As well as so the openings for singles and doubles can be determined.

You may begin committing. These rules are subject to change. Please, ONLY COMMITMENTS IN THIS THREAD. Discussion can be held in the other thread.

Not to intimidate anyone but both of us are holders of each slam title in doubles this year :) I mean if the Olympics were played on a combo Plexicushion Red Clay surface, the AO/RG kings would break dishes. :)

No. The 2 higher of the 3 will be accepted.

We are talking about The Netherlands. If they want to converse and make a decision on their own, they can. If not, then the 2 highest will be accepted.
