OMG :bounce: Finally a first title for Serena! So deserved :D Serena is yet to lose a match (in singles) while representing her country, 2-0 at Fed Cup and 5-0 at the Olympics :yeah: Article Later :D

Serena Williams accomplished her 2008 Olympics mission and made her country proud of her as she won her first title of the year which also came with a gold medal. Williams didn't give up one set this week and no more than 5 games to any girl she has faced.

In final, Serena had to face her black beast in Nicole Vaidisova, whom she already lost three times too. The final wasn't tight at all, it was a harsh beatdown from Serena, in less than an hour she ass whooped the Czech 6-4 6-0.

After the final, her coach said "I always knew she had what it takes to win big events. She has lacked a bit of regularity with her results this year but this week was really impressive, I never saw her maintain such a level of play during 5 matches. She was unbeatable today."

Even if Serena had a negative record against Vaidisova before the final, the fans really felt she was the favourite, a little girl who came to watch the final said before it "Serena will destroy this bitch, she's playing unbelievable tennis this week, I'd like to be like her, she's the best player ever."

In her speech after winning the gold Serena said, "I'd like to thank my fans for keeping believing in me even if my season really was up and down. I'm really proud to be American today, I wanted to make my compatriots proud this week and I think I made it. And I'm sorry Nicole, you just weren't good enough today, I hope I'll beat you again in final in 4 years, silver still is better than nothing. With your second place, you kinda are the best of the losers."

It made Vaidisova a bit angry, so she got on stage and started arguing with Queen Ree and they started fighting and it ended up with Vaidisova falling on her butt and she had to be transported to an hospital. Later, a new came out saying she had a coccyx fracture.
