Career

Daniela Hantuchova started out in the WSC hopeing to be a thunderous force at Indian Wells. Daniela unfourtunatly lost in the first round of her favorite tournament to eventual champion Sam Stosur 6-3 6-4.

In week two she played in Miami and lost a devastating three seter to Nicole Vaidisova that lasted three hours 6-4 6-7 6-7. She was so close to winning that match and went into Rebound Ace season with little confidence.

In week three Hantuchova faced also winless Justine Henin whom was also her doubles partner. Daniela came away with a three set win 6-3 5-7 7-6(0). In the next round she faced Venus Williams and shocked the crowd easily winning 7-5 6-3. She then faced UNSTOPPABLE Amelie Mauresmo and was tjhe only player to ever take more that 4 games from Amelie on Rebound Ace. She unfourtunatly lost 6-3 6-2.

Week four brought a new surface indoors. Dani would enter the Sunfeast Open in Kolkata. Daniela would go one to win the title beating Meilen Tu 6-4, 6-3 , Serena Williams 6-2, 6-4, Dinara Safina 6-4, 6-4 and Nadia Petrova in trhe championship match 7-5 6-4.

After winnig her last tournament Daniela was eager to impress on her first grass tournament of the year. Week Five-Banka Koper Slovenia Open Dani went in as the second seed and had a royund of 16 match vs. Francesca Schiavone. Dani cruised trought the sweet PC player 6-2, 6-4. In the Quarter Finals she faced grass court expert Althea Gibson Dani made it through the extrmly tough match 7-6, 4-6, 6-4. The Semi Finals was no easier
and Maria Sharapova Was much tougher Daniela came from 0-5 down in the third set to win 3-6, 6-4, 7-6. In the finals Hantuchova beat Steffi Graf 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to tke home the title

Week Six brought the first grand slam in the form of the Australian Open Dani was forced to retire against PC player
Jill Craybas L 6-3 5-2 40-0 ret.

Week Seven brough the Nordea Nordic Light Open a much more comfortable hard court. in ther round of 16 she beat Althea Gibson by a W/O in the Quarter Finals Na Li 6-3, 6-3 beat the second seed Semi Finals Sam Stosur Winning 6-1 6-3 but crashed out in the final to Maria Sharapova 2-6 2-6

Week Eight was a lot more dissappointing at the Hansol Korea Open Dani beat her bue but lost to the uglyest person on tour Tatiana Golovin 4-6 5-7. She won the doubles tournament though.

Week nine brought both revenge and a tilte in Bali. In the Quarters she beat riva vs. Jill Craybas W 6-3 7-6(0) in the Semi Finals she beat the two seed and brought th head to head to her favor, beating Sam Stosur 7-5 7-5 the Final was far easier against thed world number one Amelie Mauresmo Winning 6-4 6-1

Week 10 brought Daniela to her third Rebound Ace event. Daniela recieved a bye and then played the Belarussian teen Olga Govorsova handing out her first BAGEL 6-0 7-5. Next she faced Samantha Stosur, the second best rebound Acer whom she lost to 6-1 6-1. Daniela made the semis and was ultimitly indifferent towards her result.

Week 11 brought the second grand slam on the clay of roland garros. Daniela got bye her tough first round winning it 7-6 7-6. The next match she'd lose to the eventual finalist Vera Zvonareva 6-4 6-2. In luckyer news she won the doubles title with Henin

Im back with Justine! Me and justine have had great great sucess together in doubles! we have two maybe three titles and have great chemistry on court. When she plays her backhand and I my forehand we rarly lose points and the other side is no different as we areboth solid. Her volleys are crisp and we are both tough to pass when at net. She alwyas has great energy and she is fu to practice and play with!

Today Daniela Hantuchova played her semi final match vs, Indian Wells champion Samantha Stosur. Daniela the three seed and Sam the three seed, have had to meetings in the past one very early in the season going to Sam and one two weeks a go where Daniela won 6-3 6-1. The match starthed and the slovakian was ready to play. The first set include loads of long rallies and 4 acec from each side in the first three games. Daniela though got ahaead with a late break to take the set 7-5. Daniela looked to her coach and pumped her fist elated to take this tough set.

The second set was no easier as the Slovakin had troble with the Aussies crosscourt forehand. Daniela though tdid not giev up no matter how had the Indonesian sun was sining over the gorgous hard court. Daniela alos made the late break in the second edging the Aussie 7-5 7-5. Daniela brought her head to head with stosur to 2-1 and was elated with her win. "Sam is the number two because shes such a great player, I cant wait to face her again." Daniela also has double wigth harkleroad coming up and cant wait hoping to sweep Bali.

Daniela Hantuchova came in to Bali, as the third seed and very eager to keep on proving herself as an all-court threat. The tier three in Bali was by far more competitive than the tier one in berlin, including World number 1 Amelie Mauresmo, ex-number oneand top five player Sam Stosur, and upset making bitch robot, Jill Craybas. Daniela as the three seed stated with a bye then cruised troughJill Craybas 6-3 7-6(0), she then made the semis beat Sam Stosur in a great quality 7-5 7-5 match. Then the final between uncontested world number one, Daniela Hantuchova and World number six and two time titlest, Hantuchova.

Daniela was introduced as she walked on court
From the second Daniela walked on court the crowds energy was roaring and we could see both players were happy o make it this far. The match started of with the Slovak going to a quick two love lead but MOMO, as he friends call her would not be swayed she immedialy fought back to make it level on serve untill 3-3 when dani went ahead to 5-3, unluckily for Dani Amelie was in the fighting spirit.

Daniela was up at five three and had set points but Amelie fought until Daniel was just to strong. On set point Dani ran up to net trying to swich up her game and hit a beautiful dropvolley which was enouugh to take the set. The second set was 100% Slovak power as she fought to go to a commanding 5-1 lead. She hit cleancross court wineners without even serving well and waas excited when she was up fist puming every set of the way.

It was Danis serve and started of the final game of the Bali Champoinships with an ace, 15-0 the next point a return winner 15-15 next an unforced error by Amelie 30-15 next a backhand down the line by Daniela. Championship point a beautiful forehand down the line winner. "Im ecstatic to win this teh people are great the match was fun and its my third title on different surfaces. Im on cloud ninE!"
