Karat0589 Jun 5th, 2008, 01:37 PM Since Roland Garros is still going on this week for the pros, Pam Montez will be permitted to play this week. :)
This will be a Lvl. 1 tournament so it's a good place for some of you to pick up points and raise your rankings. ;) Good luck to all! :D

[3]Larcher de Brito def. Mladenovic 6-4, 2-6, 6-4
The Roland Garros finalist is really looking to continue her success on the tour. She is really playing like the #3 junior in the world right now finishing a tight win over the French underdog. To me Mladenovic has the right tools to get back to the top of the game, but she has to put everything together on the court. She also got a bit unlucky, Michelle had won most if not all of the coin tosses.
Congrats, Michelle! :yeah:
Kristina :(
Karat0589 Jun 5th, 2008, 05:38 PM R1: [4]Nikola Hofmanova vs. Urszula Radwanska

:eek:Radwanska def. [4]Hofmanova 6-2, 6-3:eek:
Upset! Urszula played a very, very steady match using solid groundstrokes and was able to draw errors from Nikola quickly. Urszula is in the semifinals again where she will go against the winner of Hesse and Babos. Nikola is one of the most dedicated players on the tour sending points almost every week, but when your points needs work they do. Work on putting variety in your strokes. ;)
Congrats, Urszula! :)
Nikola :(

Karat0589 Jun 5th, 2008, 05:46 PM R1: Timea Babos vs. [2]Amandine Hesse

[2]Hesse def. Babos 7-5, 6-4
Amandine is really looking forward to get herself back on track and get her #1 ranking back. The match was very close but that was probably due to all of the coin tosses going to Timea. The only coin toss of the match that went to Amandine was the one on Match Point! Had Timea won the coin toss, she would've won the set. Who knows what would've happened in the 3rd? Since Timea's coach is claiming to change tactics for next tournament, work on the second set. ;)
Congrat, Amandine! :yeah:
Timea  :(
Karat0589 Jun 5th, 2008, 05:50 PM My new strokes are :help: :vomit:
They aren't that bad. :p They just need a little bit more variety.
Good on you for sending new strokes. ;)
But again there is no variety. :p  Maybe these strokes will do well, we just have to wait and see. ;)
Karat0589 Jun 5th, 2008, 05:51 PM By the way, semifinals coming later. ;)

Yeah, that is definitely unfortunate on your part. Coin tosses have been really weird for me lately. Lately, usually a certain player wins most or all of the coin tosses. :weirdo:
Remember to send for the next tournament. :) :p

Portugal is really excited to have this prodigee in their camp. Michelle avenges her loss to Pam in the Roland Garros final in strong fashion! The coin toss in the first set that brought her to the Roland Garros title went against her in this situation. After losing the first set, Pam's vulnerability showed in as she has a pretty weak second set. :( With being in the final, Michelle has ended Pam's 7 match win streak and her run of 3 consecutive titles! :worship:
Congrats, Michelle! :bounce:
Pam :( A bit unlucky there, better luck next tournament. :)
Karat0589 Jun 6th, 2008, 03:18 AM SF: Urszula Radwanska vs. [2]Amandine Hesse

[2]Hesse def. Radwanska 5-7, 7-6[1], 7-5
Their great rivalry continues with another excellent match! :worship: Urszula had won much of the coin tosses in the first set and a half but Amandine had won the coin toss when she was down match point in the second at 7-5, 5-4. Urszula also had a lead of 5-3 in the third but couldn't buckle Amandine down! :( Amandine will look to take advantage of a huge opportunity for a title as Pam is out of the tournament. :yeah:
Congrats, Amandine! :yeah:
Ula  Good effort. ;)
Karat0589 Jun 6th, 2008, 03:19 AM Final w/ live scores between Larcher de Brito and Hesse coming up ...:)
Last meeting Michelle upset Amandine in round one of Roland Garros 2-6, 6-0, 6-3.
Good luck to both players. :D

GAME, SET, CHAMPIONSHIP MICHELLE LARCHER DE BRITO
7-6[3], 6-0
Michelle has had a scintillating run to the title here in Spain. :worship: By no means she had an easy draw having to go against Kristina Mladenovic in the first round, Pam Montez in the semis, and Amandine Hesse in the finals. But she brushed aside every challenge to take her first junior title! :worship: Though Michelle won every coin toss, Amandine was no matchup for the big hitting Portuguese. With this title, Michelle has been the first to complete the feat of beating both the World #1 and #2 juniors and also at the same tournament! :worship:
Well done to Michelle! :worship:
Amandine :sobbing: Still a good tournament for you.
