Australia lost early last week in Auckland and will want to put that right here, but will have a tough task ahead of them, if theyre going to beat Slovakia, who won the doubles in New Zealand. An upset is possible if the Aussies are not in shape.

Poland are one team who are playing very well right now. The number four seeds will try out junior Katarzyna Piter for the first time against Tatjana Malek or Germany.

Qualifier Lourdes Domingez Lino had to tough it out through qualifiying to make it but the debutant shouldnt expect to much of herself against the number 4 seeded South African. The South Africas lost early last week and will hope to prove they are worty of their seeding here.

Finally Zuzana Ondarksova of the Czech Repbulic faces Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova. The Russians are playing well whilst the Czechs are taking a while to get into their game, So I call an upset.

Huge Shock, though Australia are not yet in the best of shape. Its a strange gamepla and theyre not taking advantage of their surface points. All credit to Hantuchova though, she played great tennis today.

Poland show that they can play against all most anybody. Theyve improved so much over the last half season tactically, and it helped them again today.

The South African take their first win of the year but it could have easily been the other way. With just a slight chance and decent draws Spain could be a team to reckon with come the Aussie Open.

The Czechs, just like the Aussies, need a new gameplan because this one isnt getting them anywhere. Sveta played consistent and thats all she needed to do. She moves on into the SF.

The tier two crown was up fo grabs and who else but Russia snatched it quickly. The Rebound Ace garenteered that there would be great stuff from the Russian team. Russia had atough road to this final but was able to make the best of it beatiing out loads of great contenders including tghe number two seeds the czechs and many others. Sveta partyed it up and got pregnant, luckily thge morning after pill help and she is all fine now. "I was close...to bing pregnant and losing in many of my matches but Im a fighter. Cant wait for next week. Sexlana"
