Dulko was on the ropes a little in the second and it looked like Jankovic may cause the upset. But, Dulko rallied to win the tie-break and Jankovic wasn't there mentally in the third set. Still a nice week for her just before Roland Garros, winning 2 matches for the first time in ages. Dulko is into another semifinal, and will look to improve on her runner-up finish from last week.

Very good match between these 2, but that is expected between the #4 and #5! Vaidisova did well to close out the second set, with Cibulkova mounting the pressure. As soon as Vaidisova took the early lead in the decider, she never looked back, and books her spot in the semis. Cibulkova will have to go back to the drawing board for Roland Garros, but she knows what it takes to win a Slam!

If Olaru now wins I should become number 5, but im playing Lena, so that wont happen :p

Great match between these two. Once again Dementieva manages to dig herself out of a 3-5 third set hole to win it in a tie-break. Serena will be devastated having being so close to the win, but she is almost there - just a few tweaks and she will definitely be a huge threat in Paris. Dementieva oves on to her second consecutive final and will hope to repeat her success from Rome last week. If she does win the final, she will take over as world #1.

What a final we had here!! The crowd were on the edge of their seats! Dementieva, for the third match in a row, has to fight back from 3-5 in the decider before clinching it on a tight tiebreak - she must now be dubbed the "Tiebreak Queen"!! :lol: Heartbreak for Vaidisova who will be annoyed at not closing this one out, but she will move back up to #3 by virtue of reaching the final. Dementieva becomes our first 3-time winner on tour, adding to titles in Bangalore and last week in Rome. By virtue of this victory, she is projected to take over the #1 ranking, and she will be the top seed at Roland Garros, riding a 8 match win streak, and she will definitely be the favourite going into our second slam. Well done! :worship:

Vaidisova Makes Progress in Strasbourg

After disappointing results in her previous four events, Nicole Vaidisova has regained her form just in time for the French Open. This week in Strasbourg Vaidisova played some excellent tennis to plow through the draw losing only to Dementieva in the finals. This marks Vaidisova's third 3 set loss to Dementieva and the second to be decided by a tie break. Despite the loss Vaidisova is confident that she can go even further in Paris than she did in Melbourne earlier this year. If she can keep her forehand and temper under control, anything is possible.
