Welcome to Gifu ,Japan,Makarska,Croatia and Charlottesville VA, USA! With Fes,Prague and Cagnes-sur-Mer in the same week this is a good chance for some of the lower ranked players to gain some important points for the Clay season.Gifu saw Katie O'Brien taking the title last year,but she chose to play in Fes this week.Gifu's field still includes comeback lady Kimiko Date-Krumm,Aiko Nakamura,Melanie South,Rika Fujiwara or Tamarine Tanasugarn.Makarska is new to the tour,but it still includes a lot of promising match-ups like Vogt-Bremond,Rodina-Martic and Lisjak-Barrois.And Severine Bremond,a star in PYW, and recent Estoril Winner Corinna Dentoni are in the same quarter.Who can be crowned as the first in the Croatian City?Charlottesville probably has the strongest field with last year's runner-up Brenda Schultz-McCarthy,Stephanie Dubois,Bethanie Mattek,Alexandra Stevenson,Samantha Stosur and Chanelle Scheepers
