A: Bangalore is Beautiful the clothes are onder ful, the food is so flavoful and the culture and people are so friendly!

Q: How do you think you'll do here?
A: Last week I lost to my "friend" and NUMBER 1 Maka Chak and I was crushed but every single game went to deuce so I don't feel as bad. Also I finallly found some consistentcy. If I do lose its usually to seeds. I havent lost to an unseeded player since the semis of Antwerp, where i lost to Iveta who is now number three in the world! Also every single of the last 3 weeks ive lost to the eventual champion.

Q: You went on a tour with your firend Agnes Szavay, how was it?
A: It was georgous, we had a wonderful tour guide. we went throuh some of the most elegant places and took loods of pictures and met great people. we had the best indian dinner ive had since three years ago in Kolkata :lol:

You will have to play qualifying this week. Do you think it would cost you having to play more matches?
Well, you know, it's going to be tiring, because I play 2 more matches than people in the main draw, but you know, I can't complain, I'm not the only one in the qualifying and whinging about it will be no use. So I will just have to try my best.

A Russian first, Elena Dementieva. How do you feel?
Well, I just play it like I play any other match, just try my best and take care of my sude of the net, your record against another player doesn't matter, you know. Every match is a new match. And that's what I like about tennis, until you lose, you haven't lost yet and you have a chance to get back into the match.

Is it different playing someone from your own country? Is it harder?
Well, no, you know. It's the same feeling, it doesn't matter who is across the net from you, you have to focus on yourself.

Today In the Bangalore Open grounds Daniela Hantuchova inited a strong young junior, Nikola Hofmanova, to play with her. Daniela came in to the Bangalore Open ranked 6th and her junior friend is also ranked that high! Daniela was talking to Hfmanovaa because they are actually family friends. Nikola's dad is Daniela's trainer!
They played one set just for fun and practice and Daniela easily won 6-1 but had some good words for Nikola."She has a future, in tennis. Not E.W.T.A but somewhere:lol:"

Last week in Dubai the EWTA and its players conducted and expiriment without telling the line judges. The set up the chyallenge system without telling the lines men and women. Tatinovic monitored its results and found out that they had only a 60 % percent of correct calls. Some player were out raged.

"How can you trust the Dubai lines people any more?" said Slvak Daniela Hantuchova"Our careers are set around these people and they donnt seem to care. Of course they cant alway be spot on but sometimes it helps."

The EWTA has re made the Dubai staff and is hoping for a fresh start the in season two. This turn of events has left lines people around the world angryy and ashamed.

Szavay Desings Trophy!

In the new design a trophy fund (set up by doubles coordinater) the players each get to design a trophy for charity. At the end when the end product is made it is auctioned off and sent to different charities, specificly BONO'S Data foundations. Firzst up was Agnes Szavay. She designed the trophy wiith expert Benny Minetti. The auctioon commenced and Agnes made 300$ for charity.

"Helping always feels good," said world number four and hungarian superstar "I'm happy that the tour can help us help others. I hope other players do this too!"

The Argentine Jorgelina Cravero was defeated by the young woman Agnieszka Radwanska by 7-5 2-6 7-6 in 3 hr of match in the first match of the qualy In the first very equal set where the Polish quebro the service of the Argentine one in the tenth game, was key to take the first set to him for 7-5.
In the second set the things changed, Jorgelina start to extracting better, she connect with her right and take it to him for 6-2.
The beginning of the third encouraging parecia for the Argentine one since she put 3-0 but the Polish one I react and take it to him in tie break.

Sharapova Overcomes Dementieva

Maria Sharapova has won an all Russian battle, defeating Elena Dementieva in straight sets, 6-3 7-5. She started out sluggishly falling behind 1-3 but put her game back together and won the next 5 games to take the first set 6-3 when she hit a backhand drive volley winner.


In the second set, it was breaks of serve until 3-3 and both held serve until 5-5. But Sharapova got the crucial break in the 11th game and led 6-5 and had the chance to serve for the match. She was down 0-40 but she picked up her game again and brought it back to deuce. The longest game of the match was held and Sharapova came out on top and she won the match 6-3 7-5 to set up a showdown with Swiss Martina Hingis.

Well, no match is ever easy, I mean, I was just playing better than she was, and I did better on the important points.

Can you talk a little about your next match.
Umm, you know, Martina is a great player, but I'm pretty confident that I can win.

What do you think you can improve on before your next match?
Well, you know, my serve wasn't doing too well today, so I will improve on that. I have to move up to the net a bit more, you know, she chases down every ball.

What do you do in your days off?
Like at the end of the year, or when I have a day off from the tournament?


Ohh well talk about both.
Well, at the end of the year, you know, I catch up with my friends, hang out, practice. And you know, catch up on some things like news and stuff *laughter*. But I practive a lot during the end of year break.

When I have a day off from a tournament, I go shopping, prepare for my next match, and have a nice dinner with the family.

After her win in the morning today, Sharapova celebrated with a shopping spree in Bangalore. She says that Bangalore is a beautiful city and will definitely go back there next year.

Sharapova was shopping with fellow tennis player Daniela Hantuchova and she said that they had fun.
When asked about what was in the bag, she said "You know, just the usual, top, skirts, dresses, High heels. I can't live without my high heels." Even though she doesn't really need them, Sharapova is already 1.88m tall.

Maria Moves Into Main Draw

Maria Sharapova needed to play only one more match to make it into the main draw, and she had to get past Martina Hingis. Sharapova came out firing in the beginning of the first set and broke to lead 2-1 but Hingis broke straight back. They both held serve until the tenth game, when Sharapova was serving to stay in the set, Hingis broke her to love, when she hit a forehand crosscourt winner.

In the second set, Hingis continued her first set form, and found herself 5-3 up and was serving for the match. Sharapova broke back again and held serve to level back the match. But a disappointed Hingis was never to return to her first set form and lost her serve once more time and gave Sharapova the chance to serve out the second set, and Sharapova did so holoding serve to love when she hit a forehand down-the-line winner.

Sharapova continued her great form from the second set to the third and broke Hingis' serve 3 times winning the set 6-0 and the match. Sharapova only lost 7 points in the final set, and only 2 from her serve.

Two qualifiers will be playing for a second round berth in Bangalore. Maria Sharapova and Alona Bondarenko came through qualifying today. Sharapova had a tough time putting away Martina Hingis but when she was on fire, she couldn't be stopped, as she won the third set 6-0 and won the last 10 games of the match. Bondarenko was as impressive, as she won against Agnieszka Radwanska and also won the third set 6-0. Bondarenko said about her upcoming match: "It's always difficult, especially against a great player like Maria, but I will try my best."
And Sharapova: "She's a good player, she's already played 3 matches and she's in form. It will be a battle, but I also know that I can produce my best tennis especially under pressure, you know, so hopefully I can do my best and we will have a good match."

Sharapova wins Battle Of Qualifiers in Bangalore

Sharapova is through to the second round of Bangalore Open after winning the all qualifier battle, but she won with a fight.

The first set was even until 4-4 when Sharapova got a break and served it out to take the set 6-4.
The second set was about the same with both players holding and trading breaks, until it went to the tiebreak. Where Alona Bondarenko won it. It was one set all. And the high quality match continued on in the final set, as both players were battling for the second round berth, but a tired Bondarenko gave Sharapova the chances and Sharapova took them. She took the set 6-4.

Maria Sharapova will now face fellow Russian Anna Chakvetadze.

World Number six, Daniela Hantuchova, crahed out of the Canara Bank Bangalore Open today. She went against world number nine Li Na and lost. This was probably the worst first round match possible becausem Li NA just missed the seedings. Daniela is very andgry about her loss and can't wait for Indaian Wells."I'm going to Indian Wells and I really hope I can get my whale!"

The game was relitively boring because Agnes had so much trouble hitting Anne's paceless spinless moonballs. "I'll do better next week. Bangalore, India. La francesa Camille Pin logro este jueves una importantisima victoria en su corta carrera como profesional de E.W.T.A, ganandole a la ascendente Shahar Peer por 6-4 6-3 en 1.29 minutos de juego.
La francesa que sigue demostrando que esta para mas ya que la semana pasada perdio la final del Abierto de Mexico, hoy volvio a ganar y dando clases de su magnifico tennis.
Camille desplego tennis gracias a su derecha que conecto 15 winners y fue lo que complico a la israeli.

Su sueño sigue

La francesa volvio a mostrar su poderia frente a la Checa Iveta Benesova por 6-4 6-4 por la segunda ronda del torneo de Bangalore. Camille esta de racha y eso no es noticia en sus ultimos 7 partidos jugados gano 6.
El encuentro fue muy parejo, pero la diferencia en la derecha de la joven marcaron el rumbo del partido para la francesa.
Camille esta viviendo un sueño, ya que este torneo no lo pensaba jugar, debido a que su ranking no la beneficiaba, pero un WC (invitacion especial) le toco a ella, y parece que la joven se siente muy a gusto con el mismo.
Ademas horas antes al encuntro disputo junto a otra francesa, ALIZE CORNET, la clasificacion del dobles para entrar al MD y lo han conseguido.

Interviewer:Whats your favorite shot and why?Dani: Well any time you lose weather its proffesionally or juniors or even versus the world
Agnes: My backhand.
Dani:Me too.
Agnes”: I like the feel and control of my backhand itsvery natural and I barely have to think about it.
Dani: I like the down the line better because going cross court is for cheaters ahha. The backhand is my niche.
