Dass die Stimmung im Lager der österreichischen Tennis-Damen so gut ist, liegt in erster Linie an Tamira Paszek. Der Dornbirnerin ist die Freude vor ihrem zweiten Heimauftritt im Fed Cup in jeder Sekunde anzumerken, Österreichs Nummer eins, Sybille Bammer, verhält sich da doch eher zurückhaltend. Aber vielleicht liegt es daran, dass die Ottensheimerin aufgrund ihrer späten Ankunft noch nicht so viel sagen konnte oder wollte (siehe Seite VII). Dabei war auch bei Tamira Paszek nicht alles eitel Sonnenschein. Bekannt sind ihre zahlreichen Veletzungen und Krankheiten der letzten Monate.

Doch jetzt sagt die 17-Jährige, dass es nicht „nur“ Verletzungen waren, die sie in letzter Zeit beschäftigt haben: „Es ist von null bis 100 eigentlich alles passiert, Dinge, die sonst in einem ganzen Leben vorkommen.“ Paszek spricht dabei von persönlichen Angelegenheiten und verrät: „Ich bin von einigen Menschen sehr enttäuscht worden. Und andere haben mich wieder motiviert.“ Die Entscheidung, nur noch mit Coach Richard Brooks weiterzuarbeiten (und nicht mehr mit Roland Santos) sei auch die „absolut richtige“ gewesen. Wie es Teamkollegin Sybille Bammer gehe, wisse sie noch nicht genau, „ich hoffe und denke aber, dass sie spielen kann. Sie hat sich zuletzt spielerisch wirklich stark präsentiert und es wäre schade, wenn es nicht geht“. Allerdings sei dann Yvonne Meusburger bereit. Tamira Paszek sagt das in einem ernsten Ton. Um dann im nächsten Interview wieder ihre Freude auf das Duell mit der Schweiz zu zeigen. Und wohl alle glauben ihr, wenn sie sagt, „ich freue mich auch noch, wenn es im dritten Satz 6:6 steht“.

The quality was throughout the first 2 sets GREAT. Many thrilling rallies, Tamira played awesome in the first set :worship: She had a great first serve (IMO) and her forehand was really hard and near the lines. In the second set Tamira got angry because of the miss-calls of the German Umpire ( :fiery: ) and then her fitness and her fighting spirit gone :o

Patty played awesome in the third set, she teached Mimi a lesson :sad:

Well Tamira is still young so I can see why she couldn't hold her nerves..
In the Obziler-Safarova match, in one game in the 3rd set there were atleast 4 bad calls about the serve in the ad court.. all of the were in BP for Tzipi, and one of them in AD Safarva
