Players who have not sent new points since the Australian Open (Week 3) will need to do so by the next tournament otherwise you will be retired.

Paszek and Rezai have not sent new points since before the AO so will be retired unless I receive new points for this tournament!

Although Venus Williams has not had the start to the season that she would like, she is still staying positive about her game and hopes she can overcome the bad start to the season.

"I am staying positive about everything. I feel my game will improve as the season goes on and I really look forward to the competition. I play Lindsay in my first round match here in Doha and hope I can play well against her and have better results than I've been having here so far this season."

Dinara Safina return to the OWTT tour this week in Doha after weeks of management stuff ups which seen her miss tournaments due to the correct entry forms not being filled in. Safina started her career in Sydney and made the semi-finals. Since that time her no-show at the ensuing tournaments has seen her ranking drop from 4 to 12.

"It has been an embarrassing month" said Safina from her practice court in Doha. "My manager was not only forgetting to enter me in tournaments, he stole most of my prizemoney from Sydney, he is a wanted man now" .Needless to say Safina now has a new management group in charge of her affairs. Dinara has vowed to make up for lost time this week in Doha.

"My ranking should be higher than it is, I can make it all the way if aI apply myself". Dinara's form in Sydney sent tongues wagging that she may be a star of the future, only to see her disappear for the next few tournaments. Her appearance in Doha will re-spark that interest no doubt. "I just hope i can start off where i finished in Sydney, I was hitting the ball well and staying tough in matches"

Safina is also on the lookout for a doubles partner, she has not played doubles this season and wants to expand her game. "I'm hopeing to pick up a good partner for doubles here in Doha, I hope somoene is interested"

Doha, QATAR - Reigning Australian Open doubles champion Jessica Moore has jetted in to Doha today, ready to compete at the 2008 Qatar Total Open. Coming off some impressive form last week, Moore faces reigning Australian Open singles champion, Dominika Cibulkova, in her first match in the Middle East.

'I'm really looking forward to competing at the 2008 Qatar Total Open. I have been informed that it is one of the best managed tournaments anywhere in the world. This makes it so much easier for us players just to come here and do what we love to do. Moore will be determined to continue her good singles form. Last week in Antwerp, she ousted World No.3 Ana Ivanovic and Paris titleholder Lindsay Davenport, to reach her first singles quarter final. However, she came unstuck against Israel's Shahar Peer, succuming in 3 sets. Peer and her partner Natalie Dechy also upset Moore and Nicole Vaidisova (the No.2 seeds) in the quarter finals of the doubles event, thus snapping the 7 match, 2 tournament winning streak held by the younger duo.

As a result, Moore and Vaidisova wll be eager to re-asert their doubles authority and further close the gap on Ivanovic and Patty Schnyder, the world's top ranked pairing. Says Moore, ''They may be the top ranked doubles team, but Nicole and I feel that we are the best doubles team in the world. After all, we won the Australian Open and the Paris title too. But they are a great combination and we are all doing our best to enhance the reputation of doubles.

It was much closer than the score suggests, with many games going to deuce, but it is Peer who prevails. She becomes the first multiple title winner on OWTT, and she does it in style winning back to back titles and she now rides a 12 match streak heading into Dubai :worship: . Kirilenko has to be happy with her week too and this should hopefully boost her confidence for the upcoming tournaments. Both women are expected to make big jumps in the rankings when they are released later today :angel: .
