Brett. Apr 9th, 2008, 08:37 AM Sophie  Why no.1 priority than playing in Europe?
ChrisCHorse Apr 9th, 2008, 11:16 AM So is Kimiko Date going to be playing here? That would be so exciting. :bounce:
kittyking Apr 9th, 2008, 11:18 AM This tournament helped launch a young Marina Erakovic all those years ago, lets hope that Ellen Barry follows in her footsteps here!
OZTENNIS Apr 9th, 2008, 01:15 PM GOOD LUCK TO:

Hopefully some of the Aussies do well this year ;)

kittyking Apr 13th, 2008, 11:17 AM Why has Chan entered here :o
She won it last year, a number who return will remember her
V.Melb Apr 13th, 2008, 02:05 PM Chan frustrates me, she comes back to Asia to rip up the 50ks each year against girls with the same game style as herself, but weaker.......... ok, we know she can beat them... but she needs to play players from Europe who have different games with more variety and power, not just Asian backboards in the 50k events, whom she tears apart every year.
.... I don't think winning a ton of 50ks in Asia every year helps her game, it keeps her in the top 75, but then each time she gets to a grandslam against stronger dare I say 'white' girls.... she cant really handle them, despite all her talent, because she is simply not used to it.
She needs to insist on playing the the Tier 3 european events, and qualify for the tier 1 events... more points, more money, and most important of all, more development of her game. Not running through events beating Tagakishi, Yonemura, Namigata etc. she is ranked in the top 75, to take the next step, she needs to take the risk and face off against stronger players.
(This event is actually has a good turn out with some tough players, so what I am saying applies less to this event, but some of these Asian challengers have only a host of Asian players with one dimensional games that Chan pretty much beats every time, its not going to help her develop her game).
Y.J.CHANfan Apr 13th, 2008, 04:41 PM Chan hears you and withdraws. :)
I can tell she's trying. As the results show, she's setting new goals for herself and working for them.Lets just wish her luck.
Good luck to Tammy,Su-Wei,Junri and Rika. :D
CrossCourt~Rally Apr 13th, 2008, 08:09 PM Gifu always seems to have a pretty strong entry list.
Its good to see Tammy still trying to keep her ranking up with playing a couple ITFs here and there .:bounce:
I hope Lauren can inch into the MD:cool:.

As if she'll do any damage. :o Would be better for her to be seeded in qualies if you ask me. ;)
BTW, she's become totally a journey-woman. :spit:

I didn't say it was her worst match ever ;).
I suppose thinking about it, it isn't that bad a loss actually as Nicole Kriz did win a 25k lately, but Junri should have won.

Considering Junri's only won 1 match against a top 450 player this year, compared to Nic beating Adamczak & Erakovic to win that $25k. Not a surprise at all!
