What does it take to be a good doubles player? Is it just good volleying skills, or is there more to it?

What does it take to be a good doubles player? Is it just good volleying skills, or is there more to it?

I think it's a combination of things. Obviously you have to have somewhat decent vollying skills but I think being good in doubles is more about partner dynamics. You can together two technically very good players but it doesn't necessarily give you the best results if you don't play well together as doubles partners. Sometimes dynamics are found instantly but sometimes it takes awhile to find each other, both technically and at a mental level.
