Fujiwara in last minute practice in Luxembourg today

In a shock turn around, a rather bedraggled Rika Fujiwara turned up in the European city of Luxembourg today to compete in the Tier 2 event, just after the US Open. Having initially stated that the team had no desire to play the indoor event, it was a surprise to see a player from the world number 4 team turn up.

"I didn't really want to play here, seeing as we do not favour the indoor courts, just like clay. But we managed to battle through then and we plan to do the same here. Even though we probably will not last long, it allows us to do more promotional work for the WTT tour and meet lots of new people," stated Fujiwara on her way off the plane.

Bondarenko toughs it out in a high quality match to reach the final, her first at high tier level. But it looks like shes going to have to up her game more if she wants this crown. Aga shouldnt be too dissapointed, with more of this form, she should make the YEC.
