WMFT: Women's & Men's Fantasy Tour
Week #3
WTA: Gold Coast

http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/3/global/graphics/logos/goldcoast.jpg

I'm sad to announce that WMFT has reached a new low . On the women's side, only 18 players will be playing this week :sobbing:. However, I'll continue to make WMFT a fun experience as long as you 18 continue to participate  Let your friends know that there are now some top players available so now is the time to sign up!... Anyway, last week, we saw Nicole Vaidisova follow up her week 1 semi with her first WMFT title :worship:. She demolished all of her opponents, not dropping a set, while also beating WTA's top 3 players! Will she continue her form this week? Or could Amelie Mauresmo be the first WMFT player to defend a title? Or, will someone else rise to the challenge this week?

WMFT: Women's & Men's Fantasy Tour
Week #3
ATP: Sydney

On the men's side, we're down to only 20 players . Anyway... congratulations to our new ATP #1, Nikolay Davydenko :worship:. With the retirement of Marcos Baghdatis (last week's #1), the spot has really opened up, and all of the top 3 players are within 100 points of eachother! Last week, Roger Federer managed to win his first WMFT title over another surprise, Fernando Verdasco. Ivan Ljubicic is the defending champion here, and as the #2 player in the world he'll need to repeat to maintain that positition, because Rafael Nadal (#3) and even Andy Roddick (#4) are both within 200 points of him!

Past Champions:
Women's Season 1: Amelie Mauresmo
Men's Season 1: Ivan Ljubicic

ANNOUNCEMENT

Okay, I'm not going to make draws until I discuss with you guys what you want to do. We only have 18 women's players, so to me it seems logical to do this:
16 player draw
14 entrants, 2 qualifier spots
4 qualifying entrants (2 move into main draw)

I hate doing qualifying draws, but this is really our only option  Unless you wanted a 32 draw with 14 byess :o

And for the men's, we have 20. 20 is a sucky number. Our options are:
32 player draw, 12 byes
OR
16 player main draw- 12 entrants, 4 qualifying spots
8 qualifying entrants, 4 move into main draw
OR
16 player main draw- 14 entrants, 2 qualifying spots
6 qualfiying entrants, 2 move into main draw.

Please, discuss, let me know what you guys think. Whatever you decide on will be the format for quite a while, until we can get some more players. So, I'm putting off this tournament for a little while until we decide :)

yup..
qualifying draws are fine:)

Any preference on the size?

Should I have as many main draw entrants as possible? Like 14 main draw players, 6 qualifying players into 2 spots for the men? or 15 main draw players, 5 qualifying players into 1 spot?
Or make it more balanced? Like 12 main draw players, 8 qualifying players into 4 spots?

16 player draw
14 entrants, 2 qualifier spots

Men:
16 player main draw- 12 entrants, 4 qualifying spots
8 qualifying entrants, 4 move into main draw

I'm doing draws as we speak. :)

Oh my god :smash:

I just realized, after looking at my draws for about 20 minutes, that I can't shrink the draws to 16 players :o

It'll mean a huge change in ranking points, how the draw looks, how the tournaments are played... I juts can't handle that, and your rankings will suffer drastically

I'm sorry to say this but... WMFT will have to take a temporary break . We can't continue playing without 22-24 players... so we're going to need at least 2 more to start up again.

I really enjoying running this game, and from what I hear you guys enjoy playing it... so go out, try to find players! I want to start up again ASAP!

this break will be the end of this game, I fear.

All it will do is send the players we do have away. We will end up with less players.
