Sania Mirza sinks to floor while trailing Brie Whitehead in their quarterfinal match, Mirza who was greatly fatigued in the match, eventually lost to Whitehead in three sets.

India's sensation, Sania Mirza, the second ranked player in the world was elminated by American, Brie Whitehead in their quarterfinal match in Eastbourne this week. Whitehead defeated Mirza; 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 in a match that took a little less than two hours. From the beginning of the match it was obvious that Mirza, who just won her second career singles title last week in Birmingham, was exhausted and should not have been out on the courts.

"I'm really tired, I feel like my body gave out on itself. It's definently not the best feeling in the world. I'm going to visit a doctor and see if everything is okay then I plan on training for Wimbledon which starts next week. It's all happening so fast, I just needed a little break I guess."

And out of anybody on tour, she deserves a break. For the past couple of weeks, Mirza has been the Pro Tour's all-star player, capturing titles in Rome and Birmingham and reaching the semi-finals of Roland Garros. She's won 14 out of her last 16 matches and since her title win in Rome, has shot up in the rankings to the world's number two. So any break that she can get, is a good one.

"I'm not in any way saying I'm glad I'm not in the tournament anymore. But I'm just really tired and I need a break. I want to win a grand slam title really bad and I think I have a huge shot at Wimbledon. I don't want anything to mess up the chance that I have. So if I can't win Eastbourne, so be it, because I definently plan on winning in Wimbledon."
