Okay, after Wimbledon people have asked about doing results quickly like that, while others have complained. The way I see it is that only 1 person (venus) has really written articles, consistently (serena now too ;)), and if people aren't going to do articles there's not really many other reasons to delay results.
So, here are your 2 options:
Keep results the same
Each tournament will be done in a week. Points due tuesday, 1st & 2nd round wednesday, quarterfinals thursday, semifinals friday, final on saturday, then on sunday new draws, rankings, etc.
Advantages: Results are spread out so there is time for articles, comments, checking results, etc.
Disadvantages: You have to wait 4 days to find out how you do at a certain tournament!
Results in 2 days
Points will be due on Day 1, 1st, 2nd, and QF round results also on Day 1 (if deadline is late, results will be pushed to day 2), sf and final results on Day 2 (or 3), on Day 3 (or 4) rankings will come out, new draws, then points will be due 48 hours after the draws are made. Sometimes this will take 6 days, sometimes 5, sometimes as few as 3 or 4 for a tournament to be played. Basically, the only thing that will change is instead of results taking 4 days, they'll take about 1 1/2.
Advantages: Yuo find out how you did in a tournament right away. The season will also be shorter
Disadvantages: Not as much time for articles, except after QF and after Final. Plus, if I am behind in getting points together and figuring results, I might not do results the day after points due and it might take a whole week anyway! (although this will rarely happen)
The only way I'm going to change so that results are done the new way is if there's an overwhelming majority (or atleast a reasonably large majority) in favor of results in 2 days. I don't really care either way.. I usually do all results right after the deadline, so it makes no difference whether I post them in 2 days or 4. I guess I'd prefer the short way, because the season would move quicker and the weeks would just be shorter! But, it doesn't matter, because I'm impartial-- it's up to what you guys think!
