Antoniychuk is Back!

Ukrainian Kristina Antoniychuk, former World Number 1 won both singles and doubles at the Copa Geradu in Brazil this week to stamp her authority back on Junior Tour. Whilst her Pro Tour partner Venus Williams faltered at Roland Garros, Kristi was flawless in Brazil losing not one match this week. The number three seed had two easy wins over Denise Dy and Alize Cornet in singles to face a semi final match with doubles partner Timea Babos. The two teenagers did battle under the brazilian sun in a great match but it was the former number one who edged a tight 7-5 final set. She then faced Isabella Holland in the Final and after a slow start sealed of a great victory 2-6 6-4 6-4 to clinch her second Junior Tour singles title.

Her second junior tour doubles title was soon to follow as the world number 1, Kristina and Timea played Chala and Mladenovic for the title. After a slow start the pair recovered to play some great tennis to remain undefeated this season in doubles and take a 0-6 6-0 6-4 win to cap of a great week for Kristi. The new rankings are yet to be released but this weeks performances could see Kristi get close to the number one and then soon help her get the biggest reward of all - going pro.

"I am so happy with my week this week, I was dominant throughout and played some great tennis. I said at the start of the week I wanted the titles and its what Ive done. My best week so far I am so happy. I have trained so hard for singles and Timea has done great in doubles with me and the tour organisers are doing great jobs too - ibg thanks to them all. Now im on a winning streak, hopefully I can carry on and continue playing great tennis and have great results. I love playing on the out and the better I do the more fun it is. Hopefully I can get some more titles...and soon!!"
