Welcome to Week 13 of the WMFT tour! This is a very special week, because for the first time on the WMFT tour (there are only 2 each season :eek: ) the men and women will both be in the same city during the same week (excluding grand slams and special events)! Last week, we saw "relative" newcomer Venus Williams blow through to her first title, dropping only 13 games en route! Last week we had several walk overs, and hopefully this week things will go much better, cause if not, YOU WILL BE RETIRED! Good luck to everyone :)!

On the men's side last week, another brand new player, Gael Monfils, won his first title in his first try, without dropping a set! Like the women, the seeds had a terrible time winning any matches, hopefully this week it will go better for them! The tour would like to welcome Sebastien Grosjean, and say good luck to you and the rest of the 's-Hertogenbosch field!

Quarterfinal Results

M.Baghdatis [1] def. A.Roddick [8] 7-6(4) 7-5
-Andy has a very simple strategy. It works well against the lower ranked players, but against the top seed and very good Marcos it will probably never work. Baghdatis played well to close this out in 2. He did a good job changing up his strategy and it's very different from a lot of the other players.

M.Cilic [7] def. N.Davydenko [4] 7-6(5) 6-7(5) 7-6(6) :worship:
-This is pretty much as close as it gets! There's nothing bad really to say about this match. I really like both players' strategies, and it was good that such similar ones got to play eachother. In the end, Cilic mixed his game up a little better than Davydenko and is rewarded with a semifinal showing!

N.Djokovic def. R.Soderling 6-3 7-6(7)
-Novak has played extremely well to get this far! Granted, he has gotten a bit of luck in drawing players' whose strategies he does well against, but nevertheless he deserves to be here! Robin got a little bit unlucky, both players had the same points in set 2 but Novak had more points on the surface and won.

F.Verdasco def. R.Nadal [2] 6-3 6-2 :eek::eek:
-This was a bad showing from Rafael. What has happened is his strategy that allowed him to win before is really failing him lately. He has just come up against the wrong type of players early in the tournament. I have no doubt though that if Rafa can make a deep run, he'd be tough to beat! As for Fernando, he too has gotten a bit of luck with his opponents and their strategies, and he really hasn't gotten one similar to his own-- making all the matches easy! It'll be interesting to see him play Novak in the semis!

Quarterfinal Results

L.Davenport [8] def. N.Dechy 4-6 7-5 7-5
-I really like Nathalie's strategy, especially in her first set, she just got unlucky and came up against a very in-form Davenport! As much as I like Nathaeli's strategy, I like Lindsay's much more! She does a great job mixing things up, and she really has an all-court game and can beat any player on any given day!

A.Radwanska def. T.Paszek 7-5 7-5
-I really don't like Agnieszka's strategy at all. It's not terrible, but she goes for way too much at times and is very inconsistent! She needs to balance her game out more and she could be right at the time. But, who am I to complain? she's into the semis! As for Tamira, I really like her originality. She needs to spread her points out a tiny bit more, but other than that her strategy looks good! I don't think it's good enough to get her a title, but with it's originality alone it will take her deep in a few of them!

F.Pennetta def. A.Ivanovic [7] 6-2 5-7 6-4
-Flavia, in her first match of the tournament, really played well. I like her style because she hits big, but is also very consistent! I also like Ana's gameplan a lot.. She needs to hit bigger at times, she's a little too "pushy", but other than that she looks good. This match really could have gone either way. There was 1 cointoss in the first set that went Ana's way, and becuase of that Flavia got the 2/3 cointosses in the final set and was able to get the win!

-I really don't like Justine's strategy. It is original, but if she's going to hit big (like she's trying to do), she needs to go for more! Her strategy works well against certain players, but Elena's all-around game is just not one of them! Elena does well spreading her game out. She could hit bigger in a couple games and it would really improve her, but at the same time this seems to be working!

'Its a great feeling to win my first title here in Holland on the grass. Its about time my form on the practise court is shown on the match court. Many of the other girls, have spoken at the past that I am a dark horse for the slams because I am so good on the practise courts but I have had a horrible start to the season but now I feel I have turned a corner and am ready to march up the rankings. I know I can be a top 5 player! I want to say well done to Aga who played really well and Im sure I will face her many more times.'
