If only four of us sign-up for this event, I say we play round-robin if that's possible.

Davenport Up Next For The US

http://www.wtnphotos.com/data/507/Lindsay_setting_for_return_2005_Pilot_Pen.jpg

Lindsay Davenport of the US has been called upon to represent the United States in singles competition in Quebec City. Her powerful and precise ground strokes will be needed for this fast playing indoor surface.

"I've been a little off in practice with my strokes, and I'm not sure what it is exactly. I've been going for my shots, but always hitting just wide or just long. Hopefully this is something I can get a handle on before my first match in Quebec," said Davenport.

Also in the line up for the US is Venus and Serena Williams. They will be in the first doubles competition that the US has entered with their new coach GracefulVenus.

USA Lindsay Davenport def. [1] ARG Jorgelina Cravero 6-1 6-1

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2005-05/30/xin_1705023010064612660014.jpg

Lindsay delivers a complete beatdown of the number 1 seed in the oneof the most commanding victories yet on tour and in the opening match of the tournament. Argentina just let Lindsay walk all over them as she sealed up a convincing victory. Nicely Done.

GER Tatjana Malek def. [2] SWE Johanna Larrson 6-1 7-6(1)

http://www.tatjana-malek.com/wp-content/myfotos/turniere-07/lux_malek-02.jpg

It was more of the same from Malek who dispite a late challange from Johanna sealed away a confidence boosting victory and to get a step closer to the Quebec final.

GER Tatjana Malek def. [1] ARG Jorgelina Cravero 6-1 6-1

http://www.tatjana-malek.com/wp-content/myfotos/fed-cup-toyota/Toyota9.jpg

Again, Jorgelina is completly batterd and its quite shocking for a number 1 seed. Their tactic wasnt the best and Malek has a great one. It was never going to match up in Craveros favour. Malek into the final.

http://d.yimg.com/eur.yimg.com//ng/sp/eurosport/20071103/10/3564662868.jpg

And she is joined by Lindsay who played just like Taddde did against Larsson. Larsson will have to pin her hopes on her match against Jorgelina as Lindsay will look forward to the final.

right, we already know the finalists are USA and Germany but I didnt get new points from either...however they havnt played yet so instead of the third match against each other theyll play the final. Cravero/Johannson will still play like a 3rd/4th playoff. Understand? Davenport/Malek final in 10mins...

3rd/4th playoff - [1] ARG Jorgelina Cravero def. [2] SWE Johanna Larrson 7-6(0) 1-6 6-3

I am sorry about the tournament being over two days...i was very bust this week + computer problems (which should now be sorted)

no doubles this week...and tonight Jeronimo has to give me his final descion about doubles...new tournament thread hopefully up tonight...rankings no later than tommorow.

I also want your opinion...should the race rankings be scrapped? they are not being used - i think we should be fine with just the normal rankings - your thoughts please.

Well if it is the first season of the game, you really shouldn't worry about them anyway, Top 8 countries should qualify. Love the game BTW. :yeah:
