Rik. Oct 26th, 2007, 01:34 PM Interview with Masha
http://www.belarusguide.com/chernobyl1/Masha_Sharapova.jpg
After a long flight Masha arrived in Moscow, and the first thing she is doing after arriving is training and giving a interview after the training.
Maria, isn't this weird?
Maybe it is, but for me training is very important, if I want to make it in Moscow too, I don't have to party, I have to train.
I party if I placed myself for the YEC, and not before.
In the first round you play Tamarine Tanasugarn, is this going to be a difficult match?
Of course it won't be easy, I never played her before, she reached a GS final, so she is a good player. And the match is very important, as she is 9th in the race, and I'm 10th in the race. So if I want to play the YEC I have to beat her.
If you win you will met the world number 1 Alicia Molik in the second round, how do you think about her?
[I]She is a real nice player outside the court, and on the court she wants to win as everyone else. I played her two times before, I lost both. But maybe I can defeat her now with the great form I have.
Thanks for the interview
Your welcome

Rik. Oct 26th, 2007, 03:38 PM Who are the favourites for the Moscow title?
http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/3/global/photos/150x200/80350.jpg
As always Justine is one of the favourites, last week Justine lost in the QF against Bartoli.
In the QF see can meet Bartoli again, possible SF's are vs Ivanovic or Pierce.
Justine won't be scared for Mary.
http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/3/global/photos/150x200/130548.jpg
Important tournament for Alicia Molik, with a bad result her she can lose her number 1 ranking. In the 2nd Round she plays Sharapova or Tanasugarn, not a good draw for Alicia.
As Sharapova won last weeks tournament, and Tanasugarn is 9th in the Race.
http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/3/global/photos/150x200/160142.jpg
Mary Pierce who always plays great in the setends, last week final she forget to do that.
In the 2nd Round she can meet Razzano again, as QF Ivanovic can be her opponent.
In the SF she can meet Henin, but she really don't wanna meet Justine.
http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/3/global/photos/150x200/40289.jpg
Will she lose in the QF again, or is she going to surprise now.
Maybe the place Moscow will do something with her, and because it's in Moscow she is a favourite for sure. I don't see her winning it, but you never know.
http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/3/global/photos/150x200/310137.jpg
Masha is in a great form, it will be difficult for her opponents to beat her.
But also it won't be easy for Masha, her draw isn't that good.
1st Round against Tanasugarn, and if she wins there will be a very beautiful 2nd Round match.
She will play world number 1 Alicia Molik then, which really don't wanna lose her number 1 possision. Masha doesn't look further as that match, she also don't want to think about Molik, first Tanasugarn.
http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/3/global/photos/150x200/20631.jpg
It's only her 2nd tournament but I think Marion can stunt in this tournament. Maybe she meets Justine again if she starts well, if she meets Justine I'm really interested who will win now.

Yuran gave a rose to Tati when she arrived in Moscow
Tatiana Golovin, unseeded player, the only former champ here, the sexiest player on Tour, the loveliest one, Yuran’s sex partner, Frenchwoman, glamour girl, underrated girl, is ready to make some noises here in Moscow. She will begin her quest to the title against American Serena Williams.
“First of all, I would love to say special thanks for the great and veridict comments you have just made about me. It’s sweet! *hug**kiss* Well, I am the only former champion here because Schiavone retired. I am looking forward to claim back this title. Seriously, I wasn’t dedicated to this Tour anymore and I lacked of commitment. I didn’t train for a while before this week. I had sex with Yuran, drank a lot of alcohol, partying with my coach. It explains all my bad results previously. I’ve realized I wasn’t a seed this week and realize that I was 9th in the world. The end of the season is in about 3 weeks and I am something like 12th in the race and I would love to qualify for YEC for the third consecutive seasons. It would be shameful for me if I don’t so I worked on my strategy and I’ve trained harder than I ever did this season. I feel confident for this week. I have a tough draw but I am going to take match by match and will hope for the best, I’ll fight for every points. My first round opponent is Serena. I don’t know if I have ever played against her but I think I am going to win this match. I have to go now because I am going to play my match this afternoon.” said the beautiful French player.

Natash. Oct 28th, 2007, 10:46 PM Domachowska conquers Mauresmo
http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/7319/us0616yx2.jpg
Despite losing her first round match last week to Elena Baltacha in Gungzhou, Poland's young star Marta Domachowska did not let it affect her as she defeated talented Frenchwoman Amelie Mauresmo in straight sets 7-5 6-0
After replacing an injured Sorana Cirstea in China last week, Marta Domachowska felt extremely nervous and fell to Britain's Elena Baltacha in 3 sets. This week in Moscow, she wanted to prove herself today to her coach.
In the first set, Marta Domachowska was down 0-4 thanks to her unforced errors and Mauresmo's unique playing and aggressive netplay. She stepped it up a notch and raised her level of play, getting it up to 5-5. It was the Frenchwoman who cracked under pressure and lost the first set 7-5 after losing a two break advantage.
The second set came and gone as Marta was in fine form, demolishing a distraught Mauresmo 6-0 with fine forehand winners and 7 aces, not facing a single breakpoint.
"Yeah, you know, it was a difficult first set but afterwards I got into the rhythm and she seemed to have collapse. My next match will be tough as I go against Elena Dementieva and she's so strong and a huge fighter. I hope I can give it my all."
In Doubles, she's partnered up with Alona Bondarenko and will face Glamour girl Anna Kournikova and Austrian teenage star Tamira Paszek.
"Alona is a very good friend of mine and we are hoping to go really far in doubles. We've practiced with each other a lot and she's a great player and friend."

*Joey* Oct 29th, 2007, 12:11 AM Golovin wins on night session
http://www.golovin-attitude.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10002/normal_Stuttgart2006-17.jpeg
Miss Golovin played her first round match against American Serena Williams during the night session here in Moscow. This match was supposed to be played during the afternoon but Yuran thought about a night session match to welcome back the first champion of The Kremlin Cup.
"It was a great attention from Yuran to put my match on night session. It was a good thing for everyone. I mean, Serena wasn’t ready to play on the afternoon. I was quite excited to begin my week with a night session match here. The crowd was full. They told us that all tickets were sold before our match. We (Serena and I) were happy to hear this news. I've missed the crowd over here. They are so lovely and I am really happy to be back here. People are very nice with me and I had an ovation after the match. *lol* I was quite shy but it was quite funny." said Golovin.
The match lasted for one hour and 27 minutes. The Frenchwoman begins her quest to the title with a great and solid win of 7-5 and 6-4. Tatiana seems to be in great form and she’s looking hungry for victories. Her next opponent needs to be ready for a fight!
"I thought I was going to win easier than I did but anyway, I have the win and in straight sets. So, it’s really good for my confidence and I am really happy with the way I’ve played. Serena played some great tennis and I really had to win this match because she didn’t make many errors and I had to go for my game on every point to win them. She was a tough opponent and I needed a match like this to enter in the tournament with high confidence and expectations. Now, I know I am playing well and I am ready to fight to secure myself a spot in the YEC. I am ready for fight! Hope everyone is scared! *armed*" said Tatiana.
The next task for Tatiana Golovin will be very tough as she will have to send home the second seeded player this week, third time Grand Slam champion and probably the future world number one, Justine Henin.
"This is going to be a very exciting match. I have nothing to loose and I very want the victory. For sure, she surely wants the win too but she’s going to have the pressure on her. She’s the second seed and one of the heavy favorite to win the title. She’s a multiple Grand Slam champion, has a shot to be the world number one next week so everyone expect her to win this match easily. She’s going to have all the pressure and I’ll be ready to make her a mental breakdown. I am ready for the fight and will hope for the best. It’s going to be a good match for the crowd and I will give them a show for their money." said Golovin.

E.Dementieva_FAN Oct 29th, 2007, 02:11 PM Dementieva Prepares To Defend Semifinal In Moscow
The Kremlin Cup is a special tournament for Russia's Elena Dementieva. She may playing at home with her own crowded. Two seasons ago at the Kremlin Cup Dementieva lost to Canadian Pelletier in the first round, but they won doubles competition together.
The following year, Dementieva played very good tennis, although lost to another Russian, Tatiana Panova in the semifinal.
http://dementieva.ru/downloads/catimages/2231_image.jpg
"This is the Kremlin Cup, besides the grand slams, this is the tournament I want most. You know, I believe that I can win this tournament, I really do. I'm practicing very well and I feel very well rested. I didn't have the best summer but now this surface is perfect for the style of play I use. I have always adored this tournament and I just feel that I'm ready to win my first singles Kremlin Cup and I can see it happening if I play my cards right, for sure."
Now, Lena is the home favourite, she's the no.1 Russian, after Rodionova changed name and she's the 3rd seed of tournament.
"This is the first time that arriving into Moscow I'm the Russian number one. This is a strange feeling. We [Russians] have many good players and I am the best. I am glad about it very much. But it's heavy feeling as well, because the victory expected from you."
http://dementieva.ru/downloads/catimages/1713_image.jpg
"I am the only Russian, who able to manage to win the Kremlin Cup [in doubles], now I want to win singles competiton as well."
Main draw contains 7 Russian, this is record. But unfortunaltely last 16 contains only 3 Russians [6th seed Panova, 8th seed Kuznetsova, Kournikova and 3rd seed Dementieva].
"Anyway, my coach are celebrating his birthday today and that's why today evening will be a big party in one of the most famous Moscow's pub. I'd like to invite everybody, there will be many foods and alcohol. Yuran will be the star guest though."

Ceze Oct 29th, 2007, 07:51 PM Pierce beats newcomer from Georgia
Mary Pierce needed 3 sets to beat dangerous WC Margalita Chakhnashvili and moved on to face doubles partner Maria Kirilenko in the next round.
http://www.abc.net.au/reslib/200506/r48812_128858.jpg
Former World n°1 Pierce, who reached the final at Wimbledon and the US Open this year, and a 3-times slam champion, delighted the Muscovite crowd with a 1-6 6-4 7-6(7/0) win over a newcomer from Georgia, Margalita Chakhnashvili.
In the second round, 32-year-old Pierce, seeded 7 this year, will face doubles partner Maria Kirilenko of Russia.
The Georgian showed some great tennis in the first set, which she claimed in 31 minutes. In the second set, both held serve until the 9th game, when Pierce broke and then closed out the set 6-4. In the third, it was quite close again until the tiebreaker, but it was only delaying the inevitable as the much more experienced Pierce, who has won just one WFTC title this year, finally came through on her first match point after an hour and 59 minutes.
Play was briefly interrupted as Pierce first served for the match at 6-0 in the TB when a protester ran across the court, naked and crying out "I love Tati", but the intruder was hastily removed by stewards.
Pierce admitted that she had not been at her best throughout the first set but managed to raise her game in the second set to win the match.
"So far I beat my expectations (by reaching 2 Slam finals this season) but today in the first set I was kind of down with the tennis that I played," she said. "Marilena Chanakashli played so well in the first set, she hits the ball so hard that I thought it could explode. I needed a bit of time to realise and find a way to control her great returns. But I did it. In the TB in the final set, she was really nervous. I think my experience helped me here. The other girls call me the TB queen, they're funny," she laughed.
Indeed, Pierce has played 46 Tie-breakers this year, and won 41 of them, including this one today.
