Welcome to Charleston USA for the Family Circle Cup!

This is a Tier I Clay tournament so many ranking points to be won.
As the biggest clay tournament of the year so far this tournament has unlimited entry though if we go over 16 teams a Qualy draw will be added. Entries close Tuesday 21:00 GNT and tournament starts Wednesday so get does points in by then! Singles Points to me - doubles to Jeronimo. All old points have been deleted. After the last week's disappointed results, Australia wants to win a tournament finally.
"We lost in the FedCup and I'm not glad about it of course, but now it's neccesary to win a few matches. This week I'll play for Australia in Charleston. It's clay, my second best surface and I want to win." - said Australian Stosur.

Finally in Charleston will take place doubles tournament as well. For Australia'll play Ferguson and Dellacqua.
"To my mind they're a good team, they could win last week in New Zealand. And if you ask me, they can win this tournament."

Great match from Tina. Slovenia are doing great on tour, yet to lose a match, and have just won one of the best quality clay court matches this year. Italy loses early again but they played a big part in a great match for the fans.

Today, The Georgian WTT Team lost to the Polish team 63 67(2) 36 . It was a Great Match, with many great Points, though both seemed to not be able to handle their nerves on tough points. Ekaterine Would shoot her Main arm, Forehand out while Radwanska would DF or serve such a 2nd serve that few would lose that point.
"I tried to give all I could out there, and it's a shame I cannot get it back. All Credit to aga, who played a great match and didnt give up, even when I served for the Match at 54 in 2nd. " - Said the dissapointed Ekaterine Gorgodze after the match.

In Doubles though, the situation is alot different. The Georgian team are in Semis, after defeating Slovenia in R1, they beat Italy in a very strange match. The Georgians won the 1st set 60, and were having fun on the court when suddenly the Italians were 51 up. From That moment, they woke up, took it to a Tie Breaker where they won 8-6 after saving a SP.

After being defeated in Doubles, against there main rivlas in this tournament, South Africa. Spain came out Very un-confident with thier debut, being one of the favourites for this event. After winning 3 titles, and remaining number 1 for 1 week, The Spaniards are known to be a threat to many Tournaments. "Was a tight match, they have to imrpove on thier fitness, they put to much effort in the first set, that what really costed them the match"
"They were strong, but we where the stronger team out there, But we are very worried about South Africa still in the draw after demolishing another team in 2 straight sets"

Very good match from Sam. Australia certainly look determind to live up to their seeding and they are doing a good job so far. Slovenia didnt play badly at all and should take confidence from this tournament as they are learning quickly they were just unlucky to play the Aussies when they had their best clay match so far.
