Ashley surprised everyone by reaching the final at RG, and was even a surprise winner at the US Open, she's been extremely solid all season and produced a good run on all surfaces except grass, and with a final last week in Quebec, she should be confident ahead of the championships.

Tamarine's highlight of the season was definitely the grass, which she dominated along with Mauresmo, in the end she picked up the Wimbledon title, and strong results at some other events have seen her safely to Madrid.

Queen of the ATC tour Nathalie Dechy is today left shocked, confused and outrage that the tour director has released information into the public domain that the Australian Open champion, who will go down in history as the first slam champion on the tour has spend time this season in rehab, something the star of the tour strongly denies and claims thats the Daviator as he likes to be called is delibrately trying to put her off one of the most important tournaments of the season here in Madrid for the Year Ending Champs where the top eight players compete.


Dechy released a short statement saying 'he hates me! All season she has tried to ruin my chances but this is just a step to far. I went straight to his office to complain, where I saw Marion on her knees trying to get up and him doing his trousers zip up but thats a whole different story but I wouldnt be shocked if they decided this rehab rubbish together. I told him I would sue him if it wasnt changed and it was but when I asked for help it was denied. They really are scared of me and hope this will put me off, only time will tell if it does. I just want to say to my fans, I have never been to rehab - I am a top athlete and thanks for supporting me in this tough time. I love you all'

After an amazing run toward the end of the season to make these championships, Venus Williams the US's No. 2 player, says she is ready now more than ever to show what she has on tour. Her ATC season was highlighted with title runs in Sydney and Quebec City, but Williams was not satisfied with her play throught the rest of the season.

"I know that I am ready to compete in the year ending championships and I hope to come out on top against the best players on tour. This is a surface that I love and hopefully that will translate into many victories here in this tournament. The only goal I have is to gain more points so that I can began next season seeded and in form. After somewhat of a dissapointing season this year, I hope to bag more than two titles next year."

Queen of tennis, Nathalie Dechy proved all her critics wrong today with a stunning win over 2nd seed and countrywomen Marion Bartoli in two sets 7-5 7-6(2) to put herself in a fantastic position to qualify from the group stages. Many had written the superstar off for the YEC, but Dechy who won the Australian Open, only weeks before claiming she would win a slam this season only to be laughed at proved she is the best in the world when she wants to be. Since the hardcourt season, Dechy has called for this match with her arch rival Bartoli at the YEC, despite Bartoli claiming to favour this surface more but Dechy has proven yet again she is the undisputed Queen of ATC when she is willing to commit.

With one of the best performances of power tennis we have seen this year from Venus Williams, she defeated the world no. 1 Severine Bremond in straight sets. Williams is among the favorites to win this prestigous title and if she can hold to form, this title can become a reality

"I'm very satisfied with the way that I played today. I took the ball early when I could and came in to net often, which totally threw Severine off of her game. I never gave her a chance to get into the match and play her game and that's why I was so successful today.

Nathalie Dechy takes time out of her busy schedule to sign some autographs for her fans, Dechy's motto is her fans come first.

The citizens of Madrid, Spain have been expierencing a whirl wind of excitment as the most talked about player on the ATC Tour, Nathalie Dechy, graced their city with her presence for the Year End Champhionship tournamnet. Since her arrival numerous A-list celebrities have flocked to see her matches. Fans from all around the world created record breaking crowds even if they didn't get inside the arena, they watched on the big screen outside.

Dechy, who is not only France's sweetheart but more of an international sweetheart has won over many hearts of audience members as well as some of the other players on tour. Three players have joined a Nathlie Dechy Fan Club such as Lourdes Dominguez Lino, Karolina Sprem, and Mashona Washington. The number may soon be growing once more players know about the club.

With all this stardom, Dechy doesn't let it go to her head as she constantly thanks her fans and follow players for the their support for her throughout the tournament. She recently destroy all of her opponents in her round robin group, going 3-0. Including a win over rival, Marion Bartoli.

We got a chance to sit down and see what Bartoli was up to since being eliminated from the tournament earlier today. She said that she had a photo shoot with a fashion magazine for Spain and that we were invited to go to the set with her!

After a couple of hours on the set, we quickly realized that it wasn't the best idea to go to the photo session with Marion. But we were able to get a copy of the picture of Marion Bartoli's first fashion magazine cover. Warning! This picture is not for those with a weak stomach or that have a faint heart.

Venus Williams will do battle with Natalie Dechy of France for a spot in the Year Ending Championship Finals in ATC. Both ladies have battled all year to be at this point in this part of the season, but only one can emerge victorious.

"I'm ready as I'll ever be for this semi-final today. I'm pumped and ready to do battle with Natalie. We are both very familiar with each others style of play so it should be a great match for sure."

Americans Battle It Out For YEC Championship Title

In the second semi-final held today Venus Williams took out crowd favorite Natalie Dechy 7-6, 6-4. It was a wonderful display of tennis from start to finish for the duo and the fans got thier moneys worth with this intense battle.

"I'm so stoked to be in this final. It was a hard fight to get to this point, let me tell you. After not winning a slam this year, this would be a great way to end this season and get ready for my Sydney title defense."

In the first semi-final of the day Ashley Harkleroad took out Tamarine Tanasugarn 7-6(3) 3-6 6-3, and will play Williams for the YEC crown.

"I'm also really happy that Ashley was able to win her match; now it will be an all American final, which I'm also stoked about."
