"In singles I always have terrible draw like now. I had to play against 1st seed Lucie Safarova, who is usually really strong in New York. Maybe that's why lost I the first set in tiebreak, where I couldn't win a point. In the second I was better, because of I was mobility, I ran a lot and hit a lot of winners. I was up 5-3 and had a set point at 40-15, but I wasted it and suddenly she broke back. Of course after that I lost the match unfortunately."

"After this match, I make a bit sightseeing in New York. And I love it, I couldn't say more, I love shopping, love the people, etc... We went out as well and I was a little drunk after that."

Alicia with James Blake played in mixed doubles tournament as well.

"We were the second seed, but unfortunately we lost to Zvonareva/Ram in straight sets. Vera and Andy played a pretty good match, as we played awful, make a lot of unforced errors, ecpecially in the second set."
