Great Match - Shame their had to be a loser. Both players played with some of their best points yet which is why the score line is so close but their could only be one winner and that was Sorana.

Regina deserves this match as her points were excellent but Tammy only just outdid her in the end. Good win from Thailand its just a shame for Kulikova.

Gisela proved to strong again to make another suprise in this Qualification. Both look good for the future but Argentina just played the best when it was needed most.

Miami, Florida, USA---The last ball was a missed backhand from Pierce, and Clijsters exalted in tired triumph after a two hour thriller as Belgium moves on in straight sets against the third seed Mary Pierce, representing France.

"I'm just so relieved. I knew I had to try and regain focus after the loss of Justine, and her death is still bothering me, but I know that Justine is looking down on me from heaven guiding me and my tennis," Kim said in an emotional press-conference after the match.

What a match it was, filled with topsy turvy tennis. Kim raced out to a 3-0 lead, but Pierce stormed back taking the next five games. Clijsters would answer that charge to get the match to 6/5 for Belgium, but would miss an overhead to send the match into a first set tie break. There, Clijsters elevated her game to a level she knows she is capable of playing.

"After that first set against Mary, I knew she was a tough opponent to deal with from the get go, and that's why she's ranked where she is. I just went out there after losing my lead and decided I wasn't going to let her dictate all the points like I had been doing those five games, and I really took charge," said Clijsters about the first set. "The tie break was the moment that I knew the match would turn around."

Clijsters and Pierce held tough on their service games and held all the way to 5/5, with clever and entertaining rallies for both players. But it was Clijsters whose return game opened up the court to allow her a shot at taking out the third seed.

"I know that many people wouldn't have expected me to beat Mary, but I don't think many players would want to see my name next to theirs either. Belgium may have had it's down time, but we're coming back strong guided by our angel."

Very tight match but Jelena just does enough. Both needed the win for Ranking points but hopefully both teams will go away with a bit more confidence after this tournament.

Another solid win for the Chinese. They are now guarenteed of another week at the number 1 spot. Jelena pushed them hard and performed like a future top 8 player but it wasnt just quite enough.

An amazing match from Alicia! This is the best Ive seen her play yet and she should be very happy with a Tier I final really out of nowhere. Katie played well but was just outplayed by the Australian today.
