Nittinghill, Australia - New comer Kristina Mladenovic won her first match against italian player Nastassja Burnett (ITA) 6/3 0/6 6/4 in a thriller match. In the opening set, the young French player played too tough for her opponent hitting the ball corner to corner. At 4/3,Mladenovic broke Burnett and hold her serve for winning the set. Then, it was all simply the most horrible moment for the French girl ! She had a lot of trouble to put the ball in the court and gave too many points to Burnett. She had to concentrate for getting in the match. Led 3/0 by Burnett, Mladenovic was crying when she fell out and injured herself in the mouth with her racket. Covered with blood, Mladenovic called doctor. After, Burnett broke again Mladenovic, still suffering, for coming back. In final set, both players played some great tennis and hold their serves until 4/3 where Mladenovic's nerves broke. Unfortunately for Burnett, her serve game was poor. She didn't serve well and made 2 double faults. Kristina Mladenovic came back and played the perfect game at 5/4 for her. Burnett was just upset by Kristina's game. With a terrible last forehand, Mladenovic won the match !

In next match, Mladenovic will play against world number one Alexa Glatch.

Caroline Wozniacki's short adventure in Australia

Caroline arrived to the tournament in the early hours of sunday and after a short resting she went to practice to get acclimatized. She felt well the court and her first services were very good. And in her way back to the hotel she met with the typical animal of australia

After this funny event she arrived to the hotel in good mood and she hoped in a good result in her first tournament.

In the beginning of the match she tried to controll the game and when it's not possibeled she get nervous and lost her service. She tried to break but Camila played very well when she had to play good. So the fist set was 4-6 to Camila.

In the second set there was no break and after 6-6 came the tie-break where Caroline played unbelievably and won the set with an ace what could see in the picture.

And then came the final set where every error could be crucial. Everything went fine until 4-5 and Caroline served next.

Caroline won a point with a volley and then with a powerfull stroke so the result was 4*-5 30-0 and then something changed. Camila played like never before and won 3 points one after the others and the result changed to 30-40.
Caroline first serve was bounded out from the net. And then she hit her second serve like a first and ... she lost his serve game and the match with a double fault.

Nottinghill, AUSTRALIA - 17 year old whiz kid and hometown hero, Jessica Moore is furious with herself after another nail biting loss on the Junior Circuit. The Williams school girl lost a tough 3 set encounter last week before being edged out by big hitting American Coco Vandewhe 7-6(3), 7-6(2) here yesterday. It was another blow for the country's top junior ahead of the Australian Open Junior Championships where she will be looking to win her first match of the season.

'Yeah, any loss stinks but losing in your home country in front of your fans is a real bummer,' said a dejected Moore. 'I tried everything I could out there but it just wasn't good enough. Coco played a great match. I was stupid enough to try and block her serve back which gave her too many easy shots.'

And so the young Aussie will now shift her attention to the Australian Open Junior Championships where she has high hopes. 'I think I can make the quarter finals. I've seen the opposition and I'm not scared. I am playing on my favourite surface in front of my home crowd at the start of the season. There's no way I am going to lose in the first round again, mark my words.'

At the end of this small interview, Moore stomped away still very displeased with her loss. It gives you a sense that things will be very different at next week's Australian Open Junior Championships. Stay tuned to see how Moore will fair in the first junior Grand Slam of the 2007 season.

AUSTRALIA-- France's Cindy Chala is through to the quarter finals of the Optus Nottinghill International after a 06 60 76(4) over number 3 seed, Palma Kiraly of Hungary. "It's a great win for me. Palma had a great week last week, and it's good to get a win over her in this form. A lot of people are very new to the tour, since it made all the changes and it's a bit different, but I enjoyed myself out there today and I can't wait to play my quarterfinal match."

Next up for the 14 year old Frenchwoman is the USA's Julia Cohen who beat Nikola Hofmanova in three sets. "It surprised me that she beat Nikola, so she must be in very good form, but I'm excited about the match, today's win gave me a lot of confidence and I'm just itching to get out there."

CURTIS STORMS IN TO SEMI-FINALS

Great Britain's Jade Curtis took another huge step towards the Optus Nottinghill Invitational final after defeating top seed Alexa Glatch in 3 sets.

As Jade missed the 1st tournament due to an injury, she was not seeded for this event and has exceeded all expectations by reaching the semis. Jade's run started against Netherland's Marlot Meddens where she won 6-4 4-6 7-6. This was an incredibly close match which could have went either way but Jade's gritty 3rd set tiebreak got her through.

Next up for Jade was Russian 7th seed Ksenia Pervak, who promised to be a formiddable opponent, Jade scraped through 6-0 0-6 7-6(5), Jade started excellently, hitting winner after winner. But Pervak fought back bravely and overpowered Jade in the 2nd set. When it came to the decider, both girls played the best tennis of the match, matching each other point for point. At 5-5 in the tiebreak, it could have gone either way but an ace and a return winner won the match for Jade.

After coming through 2 tough 3 setters, the quarter finals offered up an even harder challenge in the form of top seed Alexa Glatch, after winning the 1st tournament of the season in Costa Rica, Alexa was a firm favourite for this clash, both players started off promisingly, but it was Jade who battled through the first set 7-5, the second set was a demolishment from Alexa which she won 6-0. By this point Jade seemed down and out but she never gave up and outplayed Alexa in the 3rd, and won 6-1. This was definitely 1 of the shocks of the tour so far.

Tomorrow, Jade Curtis will face Ukranian 4th seed Kristina Antnoyuchuk, which promises to be a classic between 2 on form players. Can Jade make the final, only time will tell.

AUSTRALIA-- 14 year old, Cindy Chala, continued her great form at this weeks Optus Nottinghill International in Australia with a 16 75 64 over American Julia Cohen, the young Frenchwoman didn't start of too well going down 5-0 before she finally won a game, but she stepped up her game in the second and third sets to beat 18 year old Cohen. "I'm very happy. I didn't start out very well and I was really glad to win a game in the first set, it gave me confidence. She played very and well and it's great for me to get to the semis."

Chala faces a tough challenge next against 2nd seeded Urzula Radwanska of Poland. "Ula is a very good player, I think she got to the final last week, so it proves she can play. I know I am playing very well, so I really hope I can beat her."

Chala Form Continues

AUSTRALIA-- Cindy Chala is through to the final of the Optus Nottingham International event in Australia after 76(5) 67(4) 76(5) win over Urszula Radwanska, in a tiring match last over two hours. Both players played very well with the Polish Number two seed slamming 5 aces down in the first set but Chala continued to fight for a 76 (5) first set win. The next set was just the same, just a point or two being the difference, this time Radwanska levelling it one set all. In the third both players looked a bit tired til about 5-5 when they realised just one break could win the match and fought hard. In the third and final tiebreak, Radwanska took a 4-0 lead but Chala fought to level it at 5-5 and took the next two points for the win. After the match a wrecked looking Chala spoke of her delight to win. "It was the toughest match I have ever played, it was very tough out there. Every point was hard fought, and most of them left me out of breath, and I'm sure it was the same for her. I'm very happy to win this match, it was the best match of my career so far!. I can't wait for the final!"

Cindy Chala will play number four seed, Kristina Antoniychuk in the final on Saturday night. "I'm very excited, it's my first final so I'm of course looking forward to it. She is a very good player, but after today I know I can compete with top players. It should be a good match.
