well, it's the best if you post a message. When you're writing it, you can see all those functions above the textbox. Try a few (colors, text styles, etc.). For a color for example it's [ COLOR=blue]hey[/COLOR]
Just try it out and then you can use what you want in your signature!

PS: normally "hey" would appear in blue, but I left a space between the [ and the C, because otherweise you wouldn't be able to see it!
