Dechy Returns With Her Coach

Nathalie Dechy of France was absent since her lost semifinal in Miami. Her coach had decided to stop their collaboration thinking that Dechy wasn't enough serious during her practices. " Nathalie is out of training, said her coach. She needs to work more often and more seriously if she wants to become a great player. "

The Frenchwoman was choked by these declarations "I don't understand why Geoffrey said that. I know I am not very studious but i don't understand. So i think i will contact him to talk that over with him, said Nathalie Dechy. "

Yesterday in a press conference Dechy and her coach announced that they'll work together again. "Geoffrey is a good coach and without him i don't know if i want to continue playing tennis. So I implored him to coach me and he accepted, explain Nathalie Dechy".

Nathalie Dechy asked for a WC for playing in Berlin.

Mattek Prepared For Berlin Challenge
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k89/xXxPosterGirlxXx/Beth1.jpg

Berlin, GERMANY-- Bethanie Mattek insisted she is ready for the challenge of Berlin this week on the WWTT Tour. The American is in only her second year of the WWTT tour, after playing some events at the end of last season. She showed her potential over the past year winning her first sinlges title and two doubles titles already. This week she is in Berlin, and facing a tough draw with a potential second round meeting with her doubles partner and number one seed Lucie Safarova. "Lucie is a great player, last year she beat me all the times we met I think, but this year I have won a lot of the matches we have played. But she is always a tough oponent even if the score line doesn't show it. She always fights hard."

First up for the American though is Australian Alicia Molik. "Alicia is a good player. She has a lot of weapons, especially her serve, and if it's working on the day, I'm sure it will be a tough match."

Mattek Out In First Round
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k89/xXxPosterGirlxXx/AAAA.jpg

Berlin, GERMANY-- Bethanie Mattek is out of the Berlin Open in Germany after a tough loss to Australia's Alicia Molik 6/0 0/6 6/3. In the first set Molik was in complete control, winning all of her services games and Matteks too. At the end of the first set Mattek screamed at herself and starting throwing her racket about, it seemed to work as in the second she started ripping errors from all ends of the court to take the set 6-0. The third set was kind of a let down, with both players just trying to hold onto their services games. At the end of the set Molik was the one to step it up and broke the American in the 8th game to serve for the set. "It was a weird match for me," commented the American after the match, "She was playing unbelievable in the first set, and I was very angry at myself at the end of the set. In the second I just started hitting a lot winners and winning points on her serve which got me the set. The third set, none of us were playing very well, but Alicia took her chances at the end of the set, and she deserved it."

Mattek then took to court with her doubles partner Lucie Safarova against number one seeds, Li and Seles. To everyone surprise the unseeded pair beat the dominating doubles team in a three set thriller. "It was good for me to beat them, after my singles match. Lucie and I are a good team, and I'm glad we could prove that today."

Sandrine Testud Creates Magic in Berlin

http://www.wtnphotos.com/data/513/1stespic1.jpg

Berlin, GERMANY--Sandrine Testud was elated when she found she beat Maria Sharapova in the second round. She beat the seventh seed in straight sets, 7/5, 7/6(1). She played Sania Mirza earlier in the day, taking out the talented Indian 0/6, 6/0, 7/6(6). She has been playing crunchtime tennis extremely well this past couple of weeks. She stepped into the shoes of Mary Pierce, who finally retired after Warsaw last week, and she's played better than Pierce in this one tournament than Pierce on clay this entire time.

"I've always wanted to play well here in Berlin. It's such an important Clay tournament leading into the French, and beating Sharapova in the second round was a huge win for my confidence. I know that my coach had been considering leaving, but we're both making such a breakthrough, that I think that he's going to stick tough.

http://www.wtnphotos.com/data/513/1stespic26.jpg

Sandrine's most prized attribute was her consitancy, which is the key to her success on the surface. She's a tough customer anywhere, but on clay she takes a new character and makes everything so much harder than it usually would be. She plays Lucie Safarova, the number one player in the world, in the next round, the quartefinal stage.
