The Pro Tour's first grand slam of the season is in Melbourne, Australia home to the Australian Open. Here Maria Sharapova,is the recent Sydney champion, world number 1 and top seed at this prestigous event, but can Sydney finalist and second seeded Elena Dementieva pull off some amazing upsets to claim the title. Or will dark horses Serena Williams and Nicole Vaidisova prove to win. Here is what the draw will be like.

"I am very happy that I may be here. This is my first Grand Slam and I would like to do well. Australia one of my favourite countries, and on a last week, on my first professional tournament, I reached in the final, where I lost to Sharapova in two tight sets."

There is intense heat in Australia, so the players can traning only in the morning and in the evening.

"I like Melbourne, so I am not bored if there is not a game, or we can't be training. I like to be in the downtown, to buy, to have an ice cream and to sunbathe in the park."

The Russian player will be second seed, so she don't has to play in the first round.

"I'll play doubles too with Czech Nicole Vaidisova. She's 4th seed in single, so I hope we'll have a good results."

But in the 3rd set Tamira use her super angled- backhands again and led 5-0. But Vera and Na fight back to 5-4. But at last 2 doubles faults from Na help Elena and tamira won the match. Good match. And the Williams sisters know Elena and Nicole didn't volley well so they use many drop shots and they work so they took the 1st set. And in the 2nd set. Too many unfored urrors from the Williams sisters. They really need to change their game plan. In the 3rd, they try a new tactic. They both come to the net to volley. And they volley well. Good match. Dominika and Margalita use their good footwork to their oppoment keep running. And Margalita volley very well. Just except the 1st, Anna use her down-the-line shots to make Margalita move very difficult and Jennifer's topspin is just too good. But in the 2nd, Dominika's powerful strokes is very well. make Jennifer and Anna made too many errors. In the 3rd, they both compete well, in the tiebreak, Jennifer and Anna had leads in the beginning. But their game plan suddenely broke. And Dominika and Margalita just too good in the tiebreak. Well well performence by the British/Austrian duo, they use their powerful backhands to beat the Italian team. Tathiana need a medical treatment in the 2nd set, so i think they really need to take care of themselves. Flavia is very good today. But Tathiana didn't feel good today. In the 2nd set, they have a lead, but after that injury. They suddenely fell. But Elena and Tamira use these time to get back their game plan, and they work. Congrats Elena and Tamira. Today, the Georgian/Slovakian Pair beat noone less than The Williams Sisters to reach the Final at the years 1st Grand Slam. After getting Broken in the 10th game of the set and losing it 4-6, They came back strong in the 2nd set to take it 75 after being down a break. The third set was the one of Breaks, with noone of the teams being able to hold their serves till 5-5 when Maka served 2 aces in the game to hold for 6-5. The match Finished 46 75 75 for Cibulkova/Chakhnashvili with Serena DF-ing on MP. The team looks forward to the final, and hope to take the 1st title on the Tour.

Margalita and Dominika win their 1st Title


Today, Chakhnashvili and Cibulkova have won their maiden title at the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the year. After beating the Williams Sisters in the Final, the Georgian/Slovakian team beat the sensational finalists, Baltacha/Paszek who had received a WC into the Doubles Draw. The score was 57 75 76(4) in a match which lasted more than 3 hours and in which Maka and Dominika showed their Fighting skills coming back in each set. They will play together in the next tournaments also, and hope to not lose the #1 spot in the Race they currently have.
